Yankee Hill to Central City
My son Aidan and I took our atv on a scouting mission over to the cemetary above Central City, from our house at St. Mary's. We started at the 175.4 trailhead in St. Mary's, did the Yankee Hill loop, then took 175.3 to 739.1 which turns into 176.1(the road to Columbine Campground or Central City). On the way back we reversed the order, only we did the 175.3C to 175.3I to 772.1A. We were stopped halfway up on 772.1A and this entire section appears to have only been atv'ed as of late. We went back to 175.3 and on home. 175.4, and 175.3, the standard route over was mostly snow packed, the occasional drifts, and had Jeeps and Toyotas running it opposite us. The pic of the ice flow is the spot along 175.3 that is a deep puddle everyone loves to gun it thru. If you run it from C.C. over to Yankee there may be some winching to get thru some spots, so I am going to run my Rubicon up this asap, and repost. Now for pics!
