Please buy some tickets.
PRP really came through with some sweet seats. Then if a super nice pair of custom seats wasn't enough they offered up some nice harnesses. I cant wait to see these.
We plan to have this truck at KOH. We have a trailer but no tow rig/person to get the truck to KOH. If anyone is driving down and can tow a trailer we should could use the help getting it there. Thank you
We started with the rear suspension first, pulled it in for cutting up.
Rack it!
Get the fluids drained.
Started pulling parts we wont be using.
Torch the rest out.
We especially Thank, Firerunner, Josh, Toyotakid, Suzuki for their help and donating a weekend day to help with the cause.
You have your work cut out for you, but it is a great base to start with and lots of goodies to go on it! Nice build!
Thanks, we will get er' done. We are use to this stuff.
It's been a number of years since I've been to Placerville, I look foward to visiting again to pick this up!
Dave, is there a PayPal account setup for selling these raffle tickets?
If not you all should consider it, great for spur-of-the-moment sales and for those with a "secret stash" to avoid spousal curiosity about "more money being spent on the truck?" (not that I'd know about those sorts of things)
I hear ya, but Raffles taking a Paypal payment is not legal. Prob because if someone didnt win they could claim a dispute lol. We will take checks made out to a number of different things if you need to hide who the check was made out to. I will even send a receipt for whatever you claim you spent the money on
That is gonna be one sweet ride!
Here is a peek at just some of the parts,
Nice! I hadn't thought of the legalities and PayPal.
Double checking on the right transmission to use. I think a G series would be a better choice. I have a W56 in my first Gen and the trans shifter is quite a distance back from the dash.
We laid a couple transmissions out along side of each other and found that a G series transmission shifter is 2.25 inches closer to the front of the trans. This would give more room between the T case shifter and the trans shifter.
Glad to see it was just a couple...
LOL, We only moved the two.
Got all the brackets cut off
Frame ground down
Shackle hangers welded up
Wont be needing the stock spare tire mount
Welding in the rear shackle hangers
Making sure the front hangers are 11.5" further forward than the original hangers. Then the shackle hangers are 63" back.
Quick shot of black before installing our 5/8 HD U bolts, 6" rear shackles
Thanks guys, it will be as much done as we can, no real schedule. It will be parked at Trail Gear booth KOH. Come over and see whats new and buy a few tickets. Thank you
Everything measured out so burn everything in.
Installing the bushings for the DORP shackle hangers and hanging the DORP rear springs
Installing the sleeves
Ready for DORP 6"shackles
DORP spring perches and 5/8 u bolt flip kit, and Time to Hang that Trail Gear Rock Assault rear housing
Now onto thirds and axles,
Nice work! Axles and suspension look great!
Thank you, its coming along. Cant wait to see the new PRP seats that will be here this week.
Quick install of the rear third. Just a couple smacks with a rubber mallet and it dropped right in.
