Speaking for myself I had a great time. Thanks Paul. Didn't take too many pics but here's what I did.

Looked like a lot fun great pictures.
Man I missed out! Great pics!
Beautiful scenery! Looks like a nice trail and a beautiful day! Glad you had fun.
I am just now getting home at 6:28pm, 8 hours of wheelin' YEAH!!! My phone is charging, will post what few pic's I was able to take via the phone asap. To the group of us that continued on, sorry again for the gnarly downhill that has eroded/washed out majorly since my last trek thru there. All made it, albeit slowly. I hope all had a good time, my boy and I certainly did! It was nice to meet all of the new faces! Dinner is ready, will post back the routes taken in a few.
I had a GREAT time today! It was nice to meet everyone. We only did about a minute of Yankee Hill, Paul took us on some really fun spurs. I have no idea what we ran, but my wife got scared and my dog is sleeping, good job Paul!!
Elaine and I had a great time, when we finally met up with everyone. It was pretty frustrating trying to find the correct meeting location, then realizing that everyone already left. It would be nice for future runs to get a firm yes form everyone the night before, then make sure we're there before heading out.
I don't know what trails we hit, but it was definitely NOT the Yankee Hill people were talking about being too mellow. In a good way! Thanks Paul for leading the way, the trails we were on were fun and interesting. The downhill washed out rock chute was technical too.
One of the spurs had this big hole in it, as usual the pics don't do it justice. The drop in was almost vertical, but then it was just smooth and fun.
We started up 175.1 to 175.3H (the slog up Yankee), looped to 175.4A and down to 271.1D over to 271.1H, then over to 271.1F and back over to 175.3A, headed toward Central City on 175.3B (Yankee Hill Road or Pisgah Lake Rd) then took 739.1 over toward CC2 on over to the cemeteries. Past thru the jam packed staging area, and took all over to what used to be called Negro Hill, which just got appropriately renamed to Aunt Clara Brown Hill, this is above the staging area to the East and behind the cemetery at a mine site. Lunch time, parted ways with some, the rest of us headed back toward Yankee with the intent of heading towards Rollinsville. CC2 back to 739.1 to 175.3A and dropped down 175.3C and over to 709.1 (this is the gnarly section I spoke of used to be a class 2-3, now 5-7?) got to the 705.1 intersection, Max and *Edit: Elaine* went down 705.1 to 4S Apex Rd., the rest of us went up 705.1 to 753.1 and on over to the 353/753 intersection. Sorry I forgot names, the new Blazer and FJ went toward Rollinsville and Minnesota, my neighbor Carl and myself headed up 353 to the James Peak Lake Trailhead. Minnesota went back, Carl and I picked up another Jeeper and continued 353 back into St. Mary's/Fall River Rd. Awesome Day!! My pic's to come, looking forward to other folks pic's too!! On a side, after all gnarly stuff on 709.1, on 353 I was riding the drivers side up on snow drift remnants, and instead of the wheel sinking into the snow(like I expected to happen) it rode up on top of one section and I came REALLY close to a flopping the Jeep on it's side. Once again, it was really nice to wheel with you all!!
Here are some more pics of a near vertical drop off into a mud pit that my girlfriend Elaine took when we met up with the group. Also there were quite a few muddy water puddles to go through, and my Jeep got really dirty towards the end! Haha.
Sorry Max for leaving my lot right at 10 too, will not happen again on my watch, am glad you and Java(Paul) have cb's, it is one of my next installs for sure. Glad you and Elaine had fun!! Was nice to meet you both!
Some great pictures. Looks like a good time!
Yeah, I just got home too! Figured I'd take the "long" way off Kingston/Apex. After that rain, the woods was smelling mighty fine. Glacier Paul did an excellent job in his leadership role (especially considering all the intersections involved), and moreover, everyone did great on the eroded section. Despite some initial trepidation, everyone rolled it just fine, and dare I say some confidence was built along the way.
Here's some of what I got:
Looks like it was a blast! Thanks for the pix and report and holy details, batman - Paul, your rundown of the trails is awesome! And non-glacier Paul - sorry to hear Jahna got scared!
And some more...
I had a great time with everyone today! A big shout out to Paul for taking time to show us around the area! let's do it again soon!
Aaand, a few more...
That marmot lead the trail for about a hundred yards, before letting us go by
That's an awesome shot of Max's jeep flexing! im glad we hit that washed out section...and more importantly everyone got through with no damage!
Thanks for sharing! It looks like the area has changed quite a bit since I was last there. It's back on my 2012 to-do list.
