Roof rack, courtesy of BFD custom mounts. I too have the 60"
You might need a hood or diagonal mount across the back.
Edit: These are my thoughts in finding a mounting spot on my Wrangler...
Front bumper, horizontal - already a lot of weight at that end of the vehicle (more road grit).
Hood - I flip my windshield down so it can't go there (plus I want the weight low, if reasonable).
Inside - I'd like to mount it there (across behind back seat) but it's just a bit too cumbersome, though I'd like it inside to keep grit and soil out of the working mechanism.
Rear bumper - horizontal - This looks to be the spot it'll end up at. I'm not too concerned with departure angle - the jack won't change it much.
I know "covers" are made for the working mechanism to keep grit off, no telling if I'd use one though.
EDIT: I've seen these in use locally... (Pete or our newest fabricator up North could make'm up quickly too)

Ill take a pic if I think of it tomorrow. I have a bit more cab then you do, but mine is mounted inside with the base bolted to my seat belt bar directly behind my head, and the top of the jack almost touches the back window.
If you want center of gravity low, bolt it to the inside of the frame!! Just hope you never need it in a mud puddle!
Mine's horizontal by the rear bumper, under spare.

if high lifts havent chenged then "grit" in the mechanism wont matter ... plus the what 4 plus foot bar gives immense leverage to crush any tiny rocks that might get stuck but since i dont know ur trucks layout and size well i cant help mount from where i am now luck to u though
60 inch high lift.. never have an issue there..
if the TJ is the same as my dads its UNGODLY narrow .....i dont think the bumper is 60 inches and on my dads the 48 incher is almost as wide as the bumper and barely fits
I saw a 48" on the rear bumper of a TJ today at whole foods, not only was it rusty as hell but it barely fit the width of the bumper. That's why I did not throw that out there.
ehh use some real aggressive paint on it and it shouldnt rust too much ......if it does start then just sire wheel the rust off and repaint
Mine is inside my rig.
Bring it with you when you come over for the gas tank skid welding today. Mounting a 60" on a Jeep is entertaining, for sure. Stand it up, it sticks over the top. Angle it, the base plate gets in the way of opening the door, etc.
Like Matt's Grand Cherokee mount, my rig has a fat ass and I can mount my 60 cross wise like he has his. If we go camping with my heap, I angle the rear tire up for the space and lash the Hi Lift to the cage at an angle.
The Hi Lift mounts that Jim posted the picture of are really decent and can be used just about anywhere. I would not mount them to the lower front of my front bumper like the picture, though. I have these welded to my cage for my jack mount.
Mine will be on the roof, when I get around to it.
I have the 48" on my front bumper with just a few pieces of 1" square tubing from Home Depot mounted to the stock bumper using 4 bolts and 2 eye bolts. There are 4 holes in the stock bumper that I took advantage of, but I did make them larger for a bigger bolt. To go through the jack I used two heavier bolts with lock nuts on the tube and wing nuts for the jack that I cable tie to the jack to prevent them from opening. I just spray the jack with CRC or WD-40 or something like that every now and then, no rust issues. I carry my strap and a few extra bungees on it too. It cost me about $20.00 total and will do until I replace the bumper. the 48" jack fits great with room to spare across the front of a TJ; you can always cut a little off the 60" one to make it fit, a 55" jack is still mighty useful.
the pics suck, took them in the garage after work this morning...
orry best I have for mine.....
I do have to take it off to open the rear hatch, but the mounts do hold it well and its out of the way.....
Mines mounted in the bed w/ Highlift mounts
I used a piece of heavy angle iron and made a mount that attaches to my winch mount. Let me see if I have some pics.
Edit: duh,look at my avatar.
