    Default Moab Fail

I only got to spend a single night in Moab, and drove slightly over 30 minutes of Fins n' Things. A health issue that had first delayed my trip came up again just after passing the Utah / Colorado border on the way there, and by the next morning I had to return to Denver. My apologies to all that went and I did not get to see or talk to, especially Rob, if I had realized I would have cancelled. On the plus side I did have a nice campsite right on Fins n' Things, it was absolutely gorgeous and I hope whoever took it after me enjoyed it (and my firewood!). I hope everyone else had a great time!!! I won't be wheeling anytime soon, but hope to see you all maybe this summer.

Yikes, Paul, hope you are okay. Beautiful camp spot. Sad you couldn't enjoy it longer.

Glad you made it back to Denver. I was more than a bit worried. Hope things work out and you can get out this summer.

I got a couple of pics of you on the first downhill on Fins.

That explains why you didn't call me back, I hope everything turns out alright. I called Jackie Saturday morning as well but never got a call back. Glad I was able to meet up with friends out there.

Sorry, Chase. I didn't receive your call...No record of it on my phone. Don and Phil are still out there as far as I know. I think Phil wants to run Hells Revenge on Monday. I think Don is still there too. Have fun and be safe!

Sorry to hear about the short stay! I hope that you are feeling better!

Did the same thing on a trip to Yosemite to climb years and years ago. got food poisoning on the trip out, then promptly got a nasty flu bug, both things I could easily have done at home instead of the west coast. Tried climbing anyway....nothing like having to spew in the middle of a rock climb...and after a couple of days climbing sick finally said screw it and went back home. My buddies stayed and climbed for two weeks. Like you, I got to "enjoy" trip through pictures they took.

Since this was also a spring trip, I just went back out in the fall...

I dodn't get your call- it could very well be my phone, it was new that week, I had terrible reception in Moab and forgot to bring it with me when I got back and went to the hospital. I'm sorry this trip got screwed up, hopefully we can hook up next time!!! I'm glad you had friends there.

I'm guessing you're feeling better Paul, I hope so. BTW, you made a good choice not using the Moab hospital.
