Thanks go out to Bryan.
Wanted to post a big thanks to Bryan aka Red Rhino for selling me the 350 short block. Hell of a nice guy, and a good source of info for you GM guys. So it sounds like I'll be getting it down to Bill at Mountain High Performance to let him take a look at it before assembly begins. Depending on cost, I think I'll have it bored or honed, have new cam bearings installed, at least re-ring if it ain't in to bad a shape, and might even get it balanced. Looks like I'll be starting a build thread tomorrow or the next day depending on schedule. Some of the parts for it have been waiting on a home for 10 to 12 years. And the truck has been sitting for over a year. Wish me luck.

Went to see Bill at Mountain High Performance today. The block will need to be bored around 10 thousandths. #1 and #8 both have a pretty good lip at the top of the cylinder wall. I like taking stuff to Bill 'cause he takes time out of his schedule to actually talk to you and give you honest options. He walked out to the pickup with me and took a look at the block and gave it a quick once over. I'll actually save some money by disassembling it myself and marking it up and bringing it to him. Sounds like it'll be about $400 for the work unless I have him balance the rotating assembly. That runs $250. Doesn't include parts so Summit Racing here I come. I'll keep you posted.

That is a great price Jon, the motor in the 57 has 5g wrapped up in it but I did the same to save some of that by tearing down and locating parts, that is amazing how much $$ that can save.

Lemme know if you need a hand with anything. I need to learn more about the inner workings of engines.

Will do, and thanks everyone.
