Looking great! Very cool! Love those Cruisers.

Looks great...look forward to seeing the new rims on it. How much did the tint run you?
I love my 84...when was yours born? Mine's dated September '84
Glad to see that the spring swap fixed your lean. Sorry i had to run, but my weekend was filled with non stop plan on top of plan. How are the tie rod ends holdin up?
Did you do that tint by yourself?
Looks great! Nice idea on the reflectix on the hood. That things looks ready for some serious trails.
I am jealous-your rear hatch looks immaculate-mine is starting to get rust spots, I need to look into repainting it/de-rusting it or just getting a new one. The problem seems that whoever has a rust free upper hatch wants a fortune for it.
For some reason the multi quote isn't working for me. So here goes.
Tint was $260. I had it done at Sun-Eaze in boulder off 47th.
The lean is gone. I am pleased. Tie rods seem good. I need to take up Droldunit on his offer to help set my toe.
I have the basic rust areas, rear fenders, and inside rear fenders by where the seat belts attach. I also have a little spot on the bottom of the tailgate. I have seen many that are rusted beyond belief.
Did a little preventative maintainence last night. My tranny hump was getting hot in the 10 miles I drive to work. Swapped the tranny fluid and checked out the T-case internals while I was down there. Things seem to shift better now and it wasn't as hot this morning.
I still have to discover the source of my oil leak. I hope it's not the rear main. I'd be happy if it was the oil pan gasket or the tranny input/output shaft or whatever else can leak down there. I guess 60's have an issue with rust on the bottom of the oil pan. So that might possibly be the problem. Whatever the cause I was down almost 3 quarts of oil from the time I got my oil changed middle of January.
Tomorrow Brody and I will tackle my front bumper build.
Probably have a bad rear main which isn't uncommon in the 60 series but you'd be wise to tighten everything and clean it all up to trace down where the main leak is. My oil pan bolts were surprisingly loose the first time I checked mine. I was lucky and replacing the oil pan stopped all leaks.

Nice cruiser!!
What lift did you get?
Any time you plan on doing some work, let me know I would love to lend a hand.
Do you have the specs on that storage box, it's pretty damn near spot on to what I was looking at doing.
I have OME mediums with Man A Fre +1.5" shackles.
Cargo box build thread.
This weekend I worked with Brody on my front bumper. It's a lot of welding which means a lot of welds to grind down. I just love triangles.
Reusing the vertical supports from my old SOR bull bar. It's basically "done" apart from a couple tweaks and cosmetics. I have to smooth out the welds, paint, etc.
End of frame was boxed and new mounts were welded on.
The winch plate rests on top of the new mounts.
Winch plate and skid plate on.
Teaser pics of the rest of the bumper.
Looking good. Another Pete special.
Needs a little final tweaking. I relocated the initial rear skid plate mounts I had done because it looked like there wasn't going to be quite enough clearance for the shackle if Bruce got really bound up. Made a sweet template with the skid plate on, then cut the old mounts off, welded the new piece in and, at the end of the day when we were fitting it, noticed that the angle was a bit off...Oh well, a little more cutting, welding and grinding next Saturday will have the bumper done, Hi Lift Mounted, and lights installed.
Bruce did a huge amount of the evil work: cutting, grinding and sanding....Thanks Bruce!
Pete and I got the bumper done today. Added light tabs and a tab for mt CB antenna.
Hopefully tomorrow I can finish the final sanding and start getting some paint on. Gonna take everything off, hit the frame with some more paint as well as everything else. Then I'll reassemble everything with my new hardware, which I left at home today.
Cool, been trying to figure out something else for my CB antenna. I got a 4' Firestik on the Firestik mag mount to stick on the roof, but it doesn't fit flush in the middle of the roof since it has those raised sections. It sticks, but I can hear it moving around when bashing around on the trail.
Can't wait to see your finished product. I signed up as a friend on that fuelly site too...
Done finally. A lot of work getting this done. Next weekend I'm gonna camp, fish and do nothing in the mountains.
Looks great man!
Your truck is coming together nicely
That thing came together real nice. I like the skid too.
Bjorn got some more lovin' today. Brody mounted the rock sliders and got the shackle recovery points welded on.
Fitting the sliders.
Sliders with scab plates ready for welding.
Welding them up.
Big gusset for extra strength.
Half ass paint job before welding them to the frame. I ran out of paint.
Finished product.
And the shackle mounts.
I like it. That front end looks great now. I just started looking at this thread today, and it's great you got the interior cleaned up too.
On a side note, I saw a Land Cruiser in the same color blue that I thought was yours parked on S Boulder Rd this morning by the creek and 36 fishing, but looking at your CURRENT pictures, it totally wasn't! Haha.
