I am watching the special report- the rat is dead. The symbol and the perpetrator and the thorn in our side is dead. Politics are not allowed here, but I am interested in comments about what this means to you in terms of historical context and military strategy.

Wow, I turned on the news to watch the weather, and the report came on. Sure wasn't what I was expecting, but it is a good day for the country and the world, no matter the political affiliation. This might be almost as memorable as 9/11 itself. A long time coming...

I've got 5 yrs between those countries hopefully those people can sleep,along w/ all the fellow soldiers. but the soldiers wont be sleeping they will be on extra watch because people will be mad at the soldiers for doing ther job ,

Amazing news! I wanted to go to bed, but now I have to stay up and listen to more commentary from the bobble-heads. A happy day for our country to be sure. But be extra cautious if you are traveling... I assume we pissed some people off. I wouldn't be surprised if plans were already in-the-making for retaliation for this outcome.
I don't find this topic to be one of political nature. We all wanted Binladin dead or alive. (The dead option was better in my book).

Ayman al-Zawahiri is the second in command. He's a huge douche-nozzle, too! Hopefully it won't be long before we tag him too. While he is nuts, I don't think he is quite as batsh!t crazy as bin Laden.
I hope it does slow down terrorism , my nephew is going back for a 2nd tour in july to Afganistan and my brother has done 2 tours over there , and I worry the whole time they are there. I hope the tides have changed for the better now!
