Moab-Elephant Hill 3-30-2011
I just noticed no one had started a thread for the Elephant Hill run. Slackers.
But first, a story. I was telling my wife about the trip and when I told her how narrow, steep and rocky Elephant Hill is, she told me she'd been there with an old boyfriend on a geology trip in her stock Nissan 4WD truck. (I drove it a few times when we first got together back in '97 when the truck was a 14-year-old leaky mess; the trip must have happened when the truck was much newer.) My wife said she immediately freaked out and bailed out of the truck. He ended up driving it up, and must have done a decent job because I don't remember it having any damage when she traded it on a newer used Nissan truck. I wonder if this is a big reason my wife refuses to go four-wheeling with me.
To the pics. I didn't get many since we didn't stop much till we got to the Joint Trail (no, not that kind) and was mostly shooting from the driver's seat.
