    Default Extreme Couponing

Has anyone seen this show? It's on TLC and it's about people who are so good at shopping with coupons they can get hundreds of dollars of stuff for practically nothing.

I thought there was some crazy people at my work when it comes to coupons (Bed Bath and Beyond), but dang.

I saw it once, I am bad about throwing away the coupons that come in the mail, I always tell Val here is the coupons and if they sit there more than two days I throw them out. I should start looking thru them and making some use of them, might give me more $$ for the projects.

Matt, LaDawn has been doing this for quite awhile. She gets all sorts of discounts and free junk (useful junk), not to mention saving some $$ all the time. Just about every other day, we get some free shampoo, soap, dish towels, toothpaste....anyway...stuff....in the mail that we can always use, mainly because she is so good about using coupons. She also gets some major discounts on other products also because she uses the coupons...

Hey Pete, could LaDawn give us some pointers? I bought a few Sunday Denver Posts to check out the coupons and wasn't impressed so quit doing that. The best coupons I get are by signing up for emails from companies (have a separate email for that). Otherwise I usually come up dry.

I bet she would. She is a ruthless shopper when it comes to saving money. Hell, with our combined income, or lack thereof, she has to be.

Shoot her an email and I'll bet she will help you.

She referred me to a coupon site that I'm assuming she really likes. I think she got credit for the referral, so pop her an email and I'm sure she'll send you one too!!

My sister-in-law does the "grocery game" and has literally walked out of a grocery store with 2 full carts for $50.
    This cart cost her $29.

Jenn and I have done this. We usually stack up a few weeks worth of coupons. Last time we were at the grocery store we bought $260 worth of food. After coupons it came to $140.
Lasted almost a month. I recommend it but you have to carve out some time at the grocery store to make it work. We spent almost 2 hours shopping and picking out only sale items
and coupon items. Even have a coupon organizer set up the same as the layout of the store.

First time we did this it took 4 hours. That is where the idea came from. Glad I can pass it along!

"Amanda, who spends up to 70 hours a week scouring the web and circulars for coupons claims to have saved $15,000 and owns, among other things 218 boxes of pasta, 268 containers of noodles, 150 candy bars, and over 3,000 rolls of toilet paper."

It's funny though because in that show her husband carries all the stuff upstairs while she does practically nothing......if she would actually do some of it, maybe she'd lose some weight. JUST SAYIN!

I guess if you have room to strore what appears to be 5 boxes of Cheerios (and assuming you REALLY like eating Cherrios for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and mass quantities of other similar items, you can save some $. My problem with buying in bulk is that the product either goes bad before we can use it, we get sick of eating it and storage space is also an issue. For large families - this is always a good option tho.

I knew a guy whose wife did this and would always bring home a ton of stuff she got for a steal.

His comment: You're going to save us in to bankruptsy...
