Google maps states it will take 5 hours 45 min to get there but since there will be a group and a lunch stop somewhere plan on closer to 7 hours.
This should give us enough time to settle in or get camp set up.

Plan on mild spring temperatures with cool nights. Coats, hats gloves are better to have than not to have.

Lodging or camping information: Most will be staying at area BFE...

I too am up for whatever, but if people want to Lodge instead of Camp, I would prefer the condo approach to the Motel approach. I'm more then fine with camping though, and would probably choose that if I had to since it significantly cheaper.

Also, I don't mind doing the easy to moderate stuff, but would like to get on something a little bit more challenging too. A trip out to Area BFE is always fun, even if its just to play in the playground area (which has stuff for all skill/build levels). There are also a couple of trails that have hard and easy lines on them just past it, so its something to think about.

If I had to choose one trail I really don't want to miss it would be the Poison Spider Trio aka Poison Spider, Golden Spike, and Golden Rim. The only questionable obstacle that people might have troubles with is the Golden Crack, but from talking to people its really not as bad as all that. Worst case, I've heard people put a spare tire in the crack so you don't get up on 2 or three wheels as much.

IF you are worried Mr. Disco, here is video of a rig similar to yours going through...

and a FJ Cruiser for the concerned Toyota IFS rigs crowd...

Otherwise, I don't have a real preference and am cool with taking it pretty easy. Thats just a trail I've wanted to do for a while.

Assuming we are surviving with our newly limited financing, it looks like we'll be there! We'll be on a slightly different schedule since my wife will have school on WEd and Thursdays so we'll be leaving home on Friday the 25th and coming back home the morning of the 30th.

The dates for arrival and departure are totally open. I will be there the whole week.
I would like to know who is coming and going and the dates just so we can help you find the group if you are not coming with us on the drive out.

As long as I don't land a major work contract that week, I'll be there for the whole week too, and was planning on driving out with you. Be prepared to go slow though, as my truck struggles to hit 70mph and will go much slower through the mountains up the hills.

I'll be leaving the morning of the 25th and will be returning home either the 29th evening or the 30th morning.

Do it.....you won't regret it. Its a ton more fun in your own rig since you don't have to worry about Buying a $50k jeep if you break something.

So if Brad gets a Condo, is everyone planning on doing that or are some people going to camp still? I haven't completely decided what I would prefer, so just curious what others are thinking. The $99 a night sounds good, $250 less so, even paying as a group.
