    Default Ironclads 12/14

Little free time wheeling at Ironclads (possibly somewhere else if we want)

    Date: Tuesday December 14, 2010

Meeting Place: Diamond Shamrock in Lyons, 4206 Ute Highway (Highway 66), Lyons (Longmont); just west of the U.S. 36 intersection.

    CB Channel: 4

Hopefully Rob & Chris' run of this trail goes fairly well on saturday to where we can have a good time.

I'm thinking we meet around 10 at the Diamond Shamrock. It'd also help if someone who knows how to get there comes, since I do not remember. (Steve, I trust you know your way around up there a little)

Hey....if anyone has a seat they want to fill up, Andrew (Medic) was over at my house and is dying to get out. His truck is temporarily dead and he is jonesing to go wheeling. Shoot him an email. PM or get in touch with me and I give you his phone number.

Matt, Ironclads has almost no snow on it and it's a short trail, meaning it'll be a short run. Rock Creek was much more fun, and Steve and the gang broke some nice trail today. You might want to do Rock Creek as the main run. It's only about 4 miles past the Bunce turnoff.

I'm all for that. I just said Ironclads as a general area. I'm open to anything up there.

My manager from work said he was gonna do Bunce School on his ATV that day starting at 9, so we may or may not run into him.

I'll have an extra spot, and he is welcome to tag along. Only requirement is that he act as Camera Monkey

I think I have his contact info from the Contact List. If not, I'll get back atcha.

I think I am going tobe sitting out on this one. Money is getting too tight to wheel twice in one week, plus I am leaving town this weekend which eats into the funds even more!! Have fun though!

I'm still in for sure. I called Andrew (Medic-5150) and he said that he was going to pass. Sounds like its just you and me Matt, and possibly Mr. Skids. Still want to meet up in Lyons? I imagine you'll be coming from Boulder, so that works for me. I know my way around up there, at least for the most part. If not, I have maps and a GPS, and I recently found a .zip file that has all of the Trail Damage GPS files, which are now stored on my GPS capable phone.

Hey Cameron, we have the RSVP at the top of the thread where you can respond that you'll be going on a run. That way it doesn't get lost in the thread and everyone knows who to wait for.

You are more then welcome to come, as is anybody else. Do you know how to get to Lyons? It is a pretty easy drive. If you can get to Boulder or Longmont, you can get there.

Its an easy trail, but there is some fun stuff.

If you end up on Rock Creek, here's how to get there: Drive past the Bunce School Road turnoff on Highway 7, go about three miles or so and turn onto Highway 7 Business (take the second turn). Turn onto Ski Road (107) and go a couple of miles. When you get to the FS 116 sign, bear left.

Love to go but I'm getting my braces off tomorow. Suggest you guys hit up Lefthand Canyon though if theres time. Went on a last minute run there yesterday, there was zero snow and they opened a new section of trail, Big Momma Hill I think its called, very challenging probably need a locker to make it up. Ill post the vid up in trip reports

Big Momma has been there for a while, they just got done doing a bunch of work on it though. I might be down for a trip to LHC, though I do try to avoid that place these days. It was pretty crazy last time I was up there and I just had a bad feeling so I got the heck out as quickly as possible.

I've heard the typical user of that area's IQ/common sense level has dropped a bunch in the last year. The Gun crowd has gotten a bit out of hand of late, and are spreading throughout the place and being really unsafe. Of course, this is just hearsay from a CO4x4 thread, but it reflects my own experience too. Might not be too bad on a Wednesday early afternoon though.

I'm still in for sure, and Lyons Diamond Shamrock still works for me.

The 10am meeting time work for you guys?

Works for me. I haven't heard from our newest member Cameron, but if he is in then great. Otherwise its just you and me dude. I wouldn't mind a bit later start, but 10am is fine too.

I'm flexible if you wanted to start a little later. I got nothing going on at all tomorrow.

nah....lets just keep the time the same. Just in case someone decides to show that hasn't posted yet, it'll cut down on confusion.
