Where to begin?

John and I camped out Friday night close to the beginning of the trail, we got there just in time to set up in the dark. Our friend Dan (silver jeep) met up around 11:30pm, it got cold that night, around 26. Our friends Jerry (big dodge) and Nate (old bronco) met us around 9 am saturday and we got started on the trail around 10 am.

We ran the lower section of the trail without incident. The real fun started 2 miles in at the cut off, it had been smooth sailing up untill the section of trail below French creek. Thats where we met up with the crowd in front of us. Apparrently there was a group of 20 something christian wheelers that were making a slow crossing at french creek, along with some CK5ers that had broke on a hard line in the creek, also if front of us were some Big Horn Jeep Club members that had plans to improve a hiking trail right along the creek. Long story short, we were delayed at French creek and decided to call it a day. We helped the K5 guys out and watched the Big horn guys wrestle with some logs.

It wasnt a prefect day, and I really would like to go back to complete the trail, but I had a great time, met some new friends and got some good pics!

Its a fun trail for sure. I know that tan k5 and the blue and white k5. That tan one is really sweet. He has that thing totally set up.

I love that trail, I really want to return sometime. However I will do it in the middle of the week like I did last time, it seems to really back up on the weekends!

The rock drop is just before you get to french creek.

The next time I attempt this trail will be the middle of the week, besides thats a great excuse to call in sick!

That WJ has a 4" lift, and he has replaced the transfur case...it was the overland edition and had fulltime 4 wheel drive, now he replaced it with one that has selectable 4 wheel. He only has limited slip, but it did better that I gave him credit for. Out of the trucks there, he was the only one without lockers, he had great lines and good spotting. I think he would have needed a hand getting accross french creek.

That tan K5 is on CK5, but it was the blue K5 that was having the trouble, I guess the throw out bearing went bad...? they got it fixed but had to turn around, they were worried thier fix would not last long.

I have a WJ, it is just bone stock, and Im trying to sell it...does that count as #2? I cant believe there is only 1 WJ here....that cant be right

Wow, I really need to get online more often, great pics and it was a long fantastic day. Can't wait to go next year or maybe in June for some snow wheeling.!
