    Default Storm Mountain

    Storm Mountain Trail, Sept. 25

    Meeting time: 9 a.m.

Meeting place: Either my house (I think the best way to the trail is county roads west of Berthoud/Loveland and around Carter Lake to US 34, then up to Drake and Storm Mt. Road), or the rug center on the northwest corner of US 287 (Main Street) and Colo. Highway 66 in Longmont.

Directions: I'll PM my address if we end up meeting here. If we meet at the other spot, it's too easy to find.

    CB Channel 4.

Other information: Storm Mountain is apparently a shortish trail, so if there's lots of time left after we finish, we can hop over to Pole Hill, Johnny Park, Pierson Park, Rock Creek, Bright Trail, T-33 or Miller Rock for more fun. Lots of options. We could even try out Storm Drain, which starts about two-thirds to the end of Storm Mountain.

Even more information: I've never run Storm Mountain, but here's the TD link: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=228

I'm really thinking about this. It looks like fun and something that my rig can do. With the fun I had on the Steep at DC, this looks like it could top that...

How far out from Denver is this? I have to be at work at 9 that night.

    Shouldn't be a problem, Happy.

Anyone else, or are Brad and I going to have all the fun to ourselves?

OK, it looks like the three of us. Let's go ahead and meet at 9 a.m. at the northwest corner of Colo. 66 and U.S. 287 on the north end of Longmont.

Dusty, hope you can catch up with us.

Dusty, just in case you come up to the trailhead from Highway 34 (as described on TD.com): I've been looking at the MVUM for that area and think I might suggest those of us who show up at 9 go up 27 through Masonville and start on FS153 from that side. If we do, we might be able to hook up at or near the official trailhead (where County Road 128 runs into 153). I'm betting I don't have cell service there, but try to hail us on the CB, channel 4.

I also like the idea of heading up to Moody Hill and Crystal Mountain (just a short hop up 27) after Storm Mountain.
