Re: COVID: A little something to lighten your day.

That tends to cut both ways and more, unfortunately. :frown:

There's way too many groups of all kinds telling everyone what they want to hear and way too many people of all kinds blindly...

Re: COVID: A little something to lighten your day.

We're still a bit short of 1/3 of Americans being fully vaccinated. But we have crossed the 100 million mark. At this point any short term problems with the vaccine should have shown up. But...

The jury is still out on that.

But that's why people still need to wear masks and socially distance. Those measures are very effective at substantially reducing the transmission rate.

Re: COVID: A little something to lighten your day.

I'm normally a proponent of personal freedom. But when it comes to spreading a preventable disease, your choices can take away other people's freedoms without their consent.

    It's the swinging...
  7. Re: April 17 Anniversary Day Run - Rainbow Falls / Lil Moab Area

I'm not excited about the snow and mud so I'll probably skip it. I'd be up for rescheduling.

    Re: 2011 AMG G55 Build

I felt the sluggish acceleration (need to regear) well before needing bigger brakes.
  10. Re: April 17 Anniversary Day Run - Rainbow Falls / Lil Moab Area

I can probably make it. I'll be coming up US85 from Castle Rock through Sedalia. I'll meet up at the Conoco there.
  11. Re: These Ukranians recommend Portals like we recommend 33's.

Yeah, I remember back when more manufacturers made trucks that were off road capable. That's less of a priority now. On road performance and comfort has taken over. Some of the old 4x4s are now...

    Re: Active shooter in Boulder

From what I read, he legally bought the gun about a week ago. If the FBI knew about him, how did he pass the background check?

    Re: Active shooter in Boulder

I'd agree that it's a mental health issue, not a gun issue.

But there's no money in mental health care. On the other hand, both pro and anti gun groups raise a ton of money, especially when they...
  14. Re: Help wanted, Switzerland Trail Rescue of my dead Rover.

Yeah, the Bronco Sport is like a Jeep Renegade. It's a car styled for people who like something different than the average blob on the road. It may be more capable than a car off road but nowhere...
  15. Re: RVer flat-tows new Jeep Wrangler in low gear; carnage ensues

The trans probably has more damage than the bellhousing and input shaft. The t-case (slowest rotating of the pieces) may be fine.

I did a calculation based on the factory manual trans, a 4:1...

Yeah, you just go through the menus and set some details and it does everything to get you working APRS. You can see other people showing up on the screen as their packets come through. It will...

The port is RS232, which doesn't work well with a tablet USB port. I haven't found anything that works well enough to get them to talk through the cable. But I haven't tried very hard. There are...

The ham is great. If there is someone else to talk to. The repeaters come and go depending on if there is a mountain in between.

    Re: Major storm coming

I dunno. Every time we are forecast to have an epic snow storm, it peters out before it happens. Lots of crying wolf. Few storms live up to the panic they try to incite.

    Still, I'm ready for it...

It's not necessarily difficult. But it can be time consuming. You should buy/rent a ball joint press to do it right. Also, coating pieces with anti-seize as they go back together will make future...
