FS: Dana 50 TTB axle. 4.10 gears.

Pulled the TTB out of my 1997 F250 this weekend in preparation for a Dana 60 swap. Figure I'd see if anyone wants it before hauling it to the scrap yard.

Comes complete from hub to hub. Springs...

    Re: Battery-starter-grnd Wiring Question

I vote block as well. I like to use a 0 gauge wire. I also put a grounding strap between the block and the frame. And one to the body. Those are usually smaller but still substantial.

Re: Regear advice - shop recommendations?

A day late to the party but I'll chime in.

I had a 2001 XJ with the 4.0 and an automatic. I ran 265/75R16 tires (32's) and 4.56 gears and it was a pretty good match for all around driving. The...

It wouldn't be impossible to weld that crack up and machine the bores again. I don't know if that would be cheaper than just buying another cast intake.

A 21 spline NP231 will swap right in. They are found behind 4 cylinder TJs, YJs, and XJs. Also, you'll find them behind 4.0 XJs from about 87 to 89 or 90.

Red Cone 24 Jul 2021 Trip report

Had a great trip on Red Cone. Much better than last time when I had to help recover a flipped 4 Runner on Webster on the way out.

So I'm terrible with names and especially forum names so I'm...

Haven't gotten much use out of them but they will be my GMRS on the trip tomorrow since the other radio let out the magic smoke while I was trying to tune it.

Everything is still a go for tomorrow.

Got my skid plates on today. Tuned my radios. The new GMRS decided to let the magic smoke out so I'll be on a handheld there. CB and ham both tuned in...

  19. Re: FR4x4 default radio channels - what shall we use?

CB has 40 channels. I can't remember a time when we couldn't find an empty channel. Even in Ouray/Teluride where there were multiple groups on trails really close to each other.

    I haven't used...
  20. Re: FR4x4 default radio channels - what shall we use?

Yeah, squelch tones go way back. It's a low frequency tone that the transmitter adds when you key the mic and start talking. It's down in the subwoofer frequencies where you can't hear it.

  23. Re: FR4x4 default radio channels - what shall we use?

We all agree to change to a new frequency when there's too much traffic.
  24. Re: FR4x4 default radio channels - what shall we use?

Channel hopping is the way we solved it with CB. And I've been known to change frequencies on ham when two groups were using the same one. It's a simple solution to a simple problem.
