Re: What did you do with your 4x4 today?

Re: What did you do with your 4x4 today?

Had a great day on Hells Revenge and Fins.

I fell in with a great group from Sturgis. I was able to do Hells Gate, the first little hot tub, which was a blast, as well as the staircase.

    We had...

Re: What did you do with your 4x4 today?

Tried to do TOTW, but it dumped snow this morning so the very top wasnt working for me.

I did get most of the way and actually HAD to bump up some obstacles with these 33's which is a good lesson...

    Re: The Campfire.

It's already looking like the walk up availability I saw earlier has vanished. Not a huge surprise, but I will stay optimistic.

    Re: The Campfire.

Wrapping up re-sealing the rainfly on my 7 year old tent, did a Nikwax DWR treatment in the fall that loosened ALL of the seam tape, so I had to peel it all inch by inch and apply a seam sealer after...

Re: What did you do with your 4x4 today?

I tried to do this using a wood pole in the Boulder County Fairgrounds parking lot once. This was a full on telephone pole for the parking lights in a completely empty parking lot.

    A security...

    Re: Jeep JL axle centering

You can do this with or without the shocks connected.

It needs to be done at ride height.

I spent the hours to adjust both front and rear because I have no experience nor rules of thumb.

    You...

Re: WTB: Jeep JK license plate holder

    Front, yes, rear no.

I guess it's probably only for the 10a bumper

    Re: The Campfire.

I do it when I feel like it because it is a norm, some people are very private. I don't really care all that much personally, but it's become habit.

I also do it for a secondary reason, and that...

Re: Help Wanted - sizing shock absorbers

IDK why I thought down was ok. It makes sense that it wouldn't be.

It's just the weight of the axle components the the full weight of the vehicle.

I've seen people using limiting straps, but I...

    Re: The Campfire.

    Garage updates.

I won $250 from metalcloak over the holiday, and not needing anything from them I went with some garage candy to help clean up a bit.

    Free: Milling bits and collets

I have these from when I worked at Surna in Boulder. They were throwing them in the trash, the mill was long gone by the time I hired on.

I don't really know what any of this is, a lot of it looks...
  17. Re: Metalcloak 2023 "I Pledge to Offroad" Giveaway

    No fenders? ;(

They did give me $250 over black friday so my garage is better organized thanks to that.

I mean, I could enter and just go for the full longarm kit. :lmao:

    The steering kit...
  18. Re: Switzerland Trails and Bunce School Road 1/1/23

We also called the owner, they had left a note with their number.

Still wouldn't feel bad about moving that rig, it was not passable, and one hell of a turn around and head back.
  19. Re: Switzerland Trails and Bunce School Road 1/1/23

    Nice and detailed report.

    That Mountaineer certainly gets around.

The slide was spooky, luckily it was slow and didn't push me into the rocks, all said, it went as good as it could have.

    I...

I had so much fun I took a nap when I got back. :lmao:
  21. Re: Switzerland Trails and Bunce School Road - Sunday, January 1s

It was a success. We ran both, no mechanical issues, we did have to winch a stranded truck off the trail.

Everyone is safe, and we have pictures for the trail run report.
  22. Re: Switzerland Trails and Bunce School Road - Sunday, January 1s

I olny slept for 5 hours after chauffeuring Molly around last night, but I am awake, loaded, and ready to head out soon.

I will see you two at the trailhead.
  23. Re: Switzerland Trails and Bunce School Road - Sunday, January 1s

Just to confirm, this is what you all consider the trail head?
