Re: Regear advice - shop recommendations?

Really good discussion here, the only other point I'll toss in that I is implied but not specifically mentioned is that there is a difference in how these are activated. ABS type braking systems and...

You kidding, our gas rigs will be collectables in 10 years, that makes them worth more right?

    Re: Traction Boards??

I'm not wanting to go too crazy with it though, basically just get back what I am losing due to elevation.

    Re: Traction Boards??

Actually feels pretty close to stock on acceleration. Even stock I wanted more power though, but there is absolutely no need. My old Syclone made 700hp at <3500lbs so 500hp at 6500lbs plus...

    Re: Jeep nightmare

That's tough but I bet it was the right call. Sometimes you just get a bad one and each time thinking "this is the last thing to fix" gets real old.

Re: Regear advice - shop recommendations?

Are truetrac's weaker than their other diffs? I'm curious why their application guide doesn't recommend them for rock crawling.

You know me too well, I was just looking into a supercharger pull or crank pulley today to help get a little more boost and will be putting new headers on shortly.

Re: Regear advice - shop recommendations?

I got to watch Trent spin one tire in the snow last year and the other not spin at all. Pretty sure his limited slip is toast and doesn't add anything. Trent, for whatever it's worth I only find a...

    Re: Traction Boards??

I'll be curious how they work. My non studded traction boards haven't been very useful in the snow. My studded traction boards have been useful, but half of the times I have used them I have ended up...

So is this just a general warning to make sure I get some more help before attempting my next major mod?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that enjoys those types of vids. While I never plan to own any of the implements I do enjoy watching youtube vids of Unimogs with all kind of similar implements. Also,...

Woah. And of course someone is going to add forced induction to those. Can't wait to see what kind of power they put out. Performance cars of the future may be mostly electric someday but internal...

Re: Ouray / Silverton / Telluride Oct 7-10

Nice job Ty. The newer gopros take so much better footage than the old ones which I found nearly unwatchable because they were so shaky. This one felt like a dog's eye view if it was chasing us...
  17. Re: Crashed jeep Elephant Hill Front axle ripped out

Thanks for the video Jim, I really enjoyed this one. I've always been a fan of Trail Mater but even more so now seeing it put to work. I need to get my lockers rewired so I can do those sweet front...

    Re: 2011 AMG G55 Build

Forgot to mention Ty swung by my place and helped me straighten out that tire carrier, it doesn't sag down anymore like in the picture above.

Made some progress on the CTIS this weekend. Don't...

  20. Re: Red Elephant Hill, Mill Creek, Bill Moore Lake - 10/16

I can't make this one, it's a super fun trail though, I've done it 3 times this summer by myself. I'm taking the weekend off of wheeling to do some work on my truck, need to make progress on some...

  22. Re: Red Elephant Hill, Mill Creek, Bill Moore Lake - 10/16

I did it in my LR4 in the wet. Had to winch in one spot. Did it in my G Wagen on 35s no issues. Itís a trail that benefits from articulation or lockers but not one that beats your rig up.

Re: Ouray / Silverton / Telluride Oct 7-10

Easily some of the most amazing views I have had in my life. All the rigs did great, even mine which if I'm being honest I was slightly worried about due to having so little time on the latest...
  24. Re: Red Elephant Hill, Mill Creek, Bill Moore Lake 10/9?

I've done Red Elephant a couple of times in the past month, once 35s and once with 38s and portals to see the difference. Fun both times but with very different lines. There is some really nice...
