  1. Re: 2017 Total Eclipse - Aug 21 - anyone going?

Ugh, I think the high 90 percent coverage from my porch in Longmont will have to do!
  2. Re: Bear attacks man in Boulder County- Miller Rock area

Wow, I like to camp at the river crossing on that trail. Roaring river is nice but in the back of my mind I'm thinking I won't hear a bear with the river noise. Might sleep a little less soundly...

    Re: New Tires on Rear

The rain video is useless. How bald were the old tires? How fast did they go in both tests? She had to coach him to drive way faster than he felt comfortable driviing in the second test. Of...

    Re: New Tires on Rear

New tires on rear is BS IMHO... I understand their logic though:

Old tires on front will wear out and then they can sell you 2 (or 4 matching) later

If my sister (bad driver) is turning on ice...
  7. Re: What's open west of Boulder/Longmont? Rock Creek, Bunce, Mill

I'd bet Miller Rock is clear, but not 100% sure. I can say last weekend Mammoth gultch is snowed in at the top by apex. Want any company?

    Rollinsville area 6/4/2017

Took my stock Samurai up for a nice easy ride yesterday. Ran East Magnolia hoping to connect to Mammoth Gulch but Magnolia West is still closed. Lots of campers on East Magnolia. I headed out the...
  10. Re: Where to get parking brake cables crimped in Denver??

I would grab a few of these from ace hardware:

Slit them lengthwise with a hacksaw and smash them on in front of the factory stop. They'd just be...

I mounted my highlift in the garage about 5 years ago... Haven't missed it. Might someday but haven't yet!

    Forest Ranger?

Just a curious question: When was the last time you saw a forest ranger when you were wheeling?

I've seen a ranger 3 times. 1st time we went riding my buddies brand new ATV (no ohv sticker, we...

No help on the mechanic but I once chased a noise like that on a Buick. Turned out to be the tires... After new CV's, Calipers, bearings.

    Re: 87 Suzuki Samurai

Might get a little better mileage with the EGR functioning. My 33" Sammy gets 20mpg with a 1.6 16V. I would hope yours would do a bit better.

Re: Info wanted - snowmobile rentals

I had never been on a snowmobile when I rented one there... Rolled it on it's side in the rental place's parking lot!

Re: Info wanted - snowmobile rentals

Rented snowmobiles years ago in Grand Lake for my bachelor party. Groomed trail system and plenty of off groom trails, cornices and deep powder off to get hopelessly stuck in.

Re: Hammer or press U-Joints !

I use the press to remove and hammer to install. The hammer shocks everything and gives it a change to line up.

My press will happily broach out the yokes if the caps aren't perfectly straight.

    Re: Hell's Revenge Rollover ATV

I don't blame the camera dude. You really think pointing to the left would have helped? Lol.

Utterly optional obstacle at the end of a great trail.

    Re: Epic fails

"Only on scary parts of the trail"... I've been wheeling a long time, most of the rollovers I've witnessed were on super easy parts of the trail when people let their guard down.
