    I will need to call the ranger station to get the actual permits since they so t sent them in advance for the Maze district like they do for the rest of Canyonlands. They make you check on a week...

    Permits are needed for Canyonlands campsites plus a few that are in the Glen Canyon rec area that borders Canyonlands (Sunset pass for example). But yea on Wednesday the 5th we will camp on BLM land...

    I like the look of the Gladiators only when they have 37" or bigger tires..... beastly! If it's a pickup your after, you can't go wrong with a Ram 2500 Powerwagon ;)

    Just the trail we took is 43 miles one way. Add on the Spurs we took we easily did 100 miles of dirt road - Jim and I did another 10+ miles south to Red Feather Lake before we hit pavement and aired...

    The road was open all the way to the end of the 43 mile track I have. There were some very icy sections and some deep snow but we cruised pretty fast most of the way. Did a few spur trails too, one...

    Iíve done it a few times and when I did in the winter there is a section where ice collects and although I made it without winching I had to winch someone up it. This trail is not a great winter...

    Good call backing down, Iíve run it in winter and it can be sketchy! Go with at least one other when wheeling whenever possible just in case!!!

    Yea I read this was a good winter trail until too much snow falls..... which hasnít really happened yet! I think Iíll actually bring the Jeep, had to jump start it today and greased all the joints...

    Goes down a gulch and dead ends - itís the ďhardĒ section of Gordon gulch with two large mud holes. Itís fun but not easy to get back up without help in the winter
