Thanks. I will definitely be getting a rack that mounts to the bed rails (like the topper rack in the colmin-x link) to be able to support the weight.
I even considered a swing-out spare carrier...
I want a topper cage (rack to go above my bed cap) to hold my spare tire and accessories (hi lift jack, maxtrax, etc.). See pic of my truck.
I was looking at Colmin-X topper racks...
Welcome. Was gonna post these in a trail run report, but this saves me the time.

I'm sold. See you out there; and thank you, gentlemen!
Haha I watched those videos, too, in the process of looking at tracked vehicles. Oh well... a guy can dream. Thanks!
Yeah, that was my initial thought. I had chains on my stock wheels and they definitely helped a lot. But, with a 6 inch lift on 35s aired down and winch in a nice heavy vehicle, I just don't know if...
Ran Gordon Gulch this past weekend (1/8/22) and ran into some deep snow drifts (I saw upwards of 3-4 ft).
My question is: what's the best way to get traction in heavy snow higher than your...
Suggestions on dispersed camping in the area that may be available? If I'm gonna make it I need to convince the fam to leave RMNP a day early, so may be nice to camp nearby to be there by 9am.
It's a 2017, so outside the 3 yr new vehicle limited warranty period that would cover such a part. Such is life. Time for a toy offroad vehicle (not that this sensor failure had anything to do with...
fwiw: steering angle sensor for my EPS failed. not a "serviceable" part, so needs new steering gear and to be reprogrammed by Ford. truck has 11k miles on it. 2700 bucks to repair.
makes me miss...
I'm game for whatever. If I have to peel off and do my own thing, no complaints.
I'm fine either way. Just wanted to ask. Thanks. As alluded to, pin striping is something I'm used to with a non-Jeep :)
Edit: length or width issues. Just watched the trailsoffroad video of Pickle Gulch and at least the entrance looks Jeep-sized ;)
Saturday for me, too.
I just finished bumpers, winch and lift. I'm interested. Never done these, so are there any issues with longer wheelbase vehicles?
Welcome! another truck... yay!
I trust the donation bar has been taken down because the goal was met? Is there a way to still donate now through Paypal?
Is there a better place to try farther North? Like, Bunce, Sugarloaf, Gordon's Gulch?
I'm in a stock f150, but interested if you're willing to wait for me to get chains on at trailhead. ;)
Oh, that is cool!
I came across this application and thought I'd share.

Thanks to all for getting me through it, guys! Beautiful day. Not much in the way of pics from me, but a little CB chatter re: an opportunity for Jim to use his chainsaw? ;)
