Sounds like the trail you, I, and Steve-o were at last winter when Steve and I bailed. I would be up for a maintenance run come summer.

I feel that way in powdery snow but have found them helpful in deep semi-packed dry snow like you can get on pavement after deep snows, many cars, and no plowing.
