Welcome! I’m also up outside of Allenspark, I’m near Wild basin. This group is awesome, I joined 4 years ago and have done countless trips with folks on here! We have one run posted for Saturday...
Yea I read this was a good winter trail until too much snow falls..... which hasn’t really happened yet! I think I’ll actually bring the Jeep, had to jump start it today and greased all the joints...
Nice! But you don’t wanna visit those campsites in summer. Unless your looking for meth or wanna party with a bunch of transients. It’s great in the winter though ;)
Goes down a gulch and dead ends - it’s the “hard” section of Gordon gulch with two large mud holes. It’s fun but not easy to get back up without help in the winter
Welcome, this is a great group and most of us wheel often so come out and have some fun!
Next Saturday should work for me too
Maybe next week or next weekend, you interested? I do have chains for the big truck, haven't tried them on yet but they should fit dandy
I thought I read Cherokee Park road is open year round other than snow closing it..... the spurs off of it are closed from what I could tell also. The road seems to go way back and my thought was...
Is this road open? I’ve never wheeled up there north of Red Feather lakes but it looks like it could be fun. Anyone wanna plan something up here?
I feel sorry for my awesome TJ Rubicon, it's been neglected for the last year due to the love affair I have with my Powerwagon!
My Corvette got driven twice in 2020, I feel bad for it also...... ...
I believe we will be in 2wd most of the time to be honest, but we will definitely have sections of 4hi and 4Lo for sure! I’ll bring 10 gallons of extra gas and my truck has a 31 or 34 gallon tank so...
I'm not sure, I'm thinking we will likely all get there in the late afternoon (6-7 hour drive for me). We could plan to meet in Hanksville around 5pm-ish and then fuel up and head to Poison Springs...
Nice! Yea I noticed at the base of Cliffhanger 2.0 they blocked off what used to be a "parking area" but the road to the top is open. I was seriously considering driving out there to meet you guys...
Jim,
I think we'll find some attractions along the drives to the campsites. Poison Springs wash has a water crossing at 16 miles and could have some washed out road areas we'll need to navigate. ...

Jim, yes looks very close to the above what I got. I’m bringing at least 10 gallons of extra gas just in...
Dave look up Toroweep overlook, described as:
This is a “WOW” trip to the Toroweap Overlook on the north rim of the Grand Canyon, offering exceptional views of the inner gorge. It is not the grand...
Have fun y’all, wish I could join but the wife wants me home today
You got this! Man that Jeep is going to look like a new rig with that top! Excited to see this
Yes, I think he said the truck was stolen!
Anyone who doesn’t go wheeling in the winter doesn’t know what they’re missing! Yes Shane buried himself and got stuck, Moose also got top centered and needed a tug to get free. And sometimes you...

Had a great time yesterday, perfect weather and trail conditions! I’ll post some videos later today when I have better internet but here’s a few pics
I’m bringing chains also but hope to not have to use them. Hoping the fresh snow up there will make it more “grippy”. See you tomorrow
