Re: 1/14/21 Yankee Hill/Rollins Pass Area

Yeah, but wouldn't recommend the other way. If you go past the tractor it splits off a few hundred yards past, one is a dead end with nothing to see, the other is a hill-climb back up to...

    Re: 2011 AMG G55 Build

Not really build thread material, but days like this are why I built this rig so I'm posting it up anyway.

That's the one. In the background of that picture, if you go up that little spur 200 yards you would see the building.

I hit it up every time I am on Switzerland, it's my favorite part for some reason. I love the tractor down there too.

It's pretty close to where you came and pulled my LR4 off the trail Jim.

Re: 1/16/22 Nederland/Ward area snow day

There is a thread somewhere on here where you can post up if you are heading out alone, what trails, and when you expect to be back. I'd link it to you but embarassingly enough I can never find it. ...

Re: 1/16/22 Nederland/Ward area snow day

Unfortunately the snow stopped fall as soon as you left. We got about an inch yesterday after you left, then none today. I'm going to pass on this one, have too much to do in my garage still,...

I had my phone recording video when we were going down the slick section in Gordon Gulch, that was fun.

That is my new favorite video, thanks for the excellent camera work. Sounds like I might need a belt wrap kit, it's properly tensioned but definitely squeals when it gets wet.

I'm heading out in a few. A bit disappointed I haven't seen any fresh snow but I'm sure we'll have a great time anyway.

Re: Some may find this of interest

That's pretty much how mine sounds now. Had to ditch the quieter exhausts to make the rock sliders fit. Pretty sure that explains why I drive it like I'm still 16.

Re: Broken Leaf Spring - trail repairs

Tie down straps and an old log were how I braced my knee to hike out of the trail when tearing my ACL mountain biking up near Vancouver, BC. Definitely good enough for me.

    Re: Best traction in snow?

I haven't found chains to help much over good snow tires once you are in enough snow it is taking weight off of your tires. Momentum can help a lot, but then you risk getting badly stuck instead of a...
