    Spring Creek 11/26/21

I think everyone had a great time with this one. All of our rigs got some challenge and especially with Gerald's and Shane's that is hard to pull off.

Gerald was the only one to make it up "the...

Re: Yankee Hill to Miner's Gulch

Ok, I'm down for that. Might make me wish I'd pulled the trigger on 35s and was quicker about installing my sliders. Are interested parties preferring Friday or Saturday? Not sure there'd be any...

Re: Maybe a little help this afternoon?

I'd like to return the favor but I'm just getting over having a few cold symptoms, don't want to be spreading anything.

Take solace in being smart and wrenching in the off season. I was wrenching mid season and missing good weekends!

    Yankee Hill to Miner's Gulch

I have yet to do the Miner's Gulch section of the Yankee Hill trail network, would like to do it this week, probably Friday the 26th but with no Thanksgiving plans I can do Thursday as well.

    I...

    Re: Battery-starter-grnd Wiring Question

Went to jump a friends WK2 Grand Cherokee and couldn't find the battery. They have a couple of terminals in the engine bay which is nice but the battery is under the passenger seat. Kinda weird and...

    Re: 1977 J10 Honcho "Magnum"

I visited family over the weekend for my uncle's funeral but there were some fun times in between; one of which was getting to check out my step-dad's CJ5 (1977) that I have seen and heard legends of...

    Re: 1977 J10 Honcho "Magnum"

Sorry I missed these posts. Attached is a photo as level as I could get it and as straight on. Kind of hard to get the right framing.

I have been driving the truck since the "lift fix" and its...

I forgot to add my photos and videos. They're far from my best but in case they're worth something to someone:

  12. Re: Johnny and S Pierson Parks, Sunday 10/24 Report

Good luck! Sorry to hear you had problems.

I had a great day on the trails. I joined after finishing up some work on the J10 lift and wanted to do a shake down. I saw the club was going to do...

The ability to attempt the chutes in a 1970 vehicle and then go help someone with their rig is underrated but luckily we have this site for people who can appreciate that

    Re: 1977 J10 Honcho "Magnum"

This afternoon I spent about 4 hours in the garage trying out the new shim orientation and getting ahead of myself. I bolted the axle back up because I thought it looked good, but now the pinion...

    Re: 1977 J10 Honcho "Magnum"

Thanks James! By the way, rotating the shims was by far the easiest part of this lift. Small impact driver on the center nut was all it took to loosen (I used clamps on either side as you suggested)...

    Re: 1977 J10 Honcho "Magnum"

Ok so James came over and brainstormed with me and brought much more experience with leaf springs with him to help me make a decision. Long story short, we agree that I probably had the leafs in the...

It sounds like you have chosen a great time of year and rough gameplan, have fun y'all!

Thanks James, I just now saw this message. I'd appreciate the second glance. You summed up my exact feelings on this: all of my research before buying the kit was that I should have no problems...

Re: Regear advice - shop recommendations?

My personal take on this with absolutely no credibility whatsoever is that they aren't recommending it for rock crawling because it isn't a selectable configuration and requires wheel spin for...

    Re: 1977 J10 Honcho "Magnum"

Great news! I am only one step away from passing emissions. I think. The 1977 service manual states that non-California trucks like mine did not use the closed fuel tank vent system so I don't need a...
