I can do either day - and possibly both if you were camping and wished to hit some other open trails in the area. Some are closed due to last season's fires.

This might not be on your radar but Trent was dropped a line for Kelly Flats - perhaps that'd be a new test for your new tires?

I'd be in for monthly cell/data (typical) service billing with a pay-per-satellite-text of up to several dollars per text. It'd be using satellite text for emergency use or RARE check-in use.
