Grizzly Lake 17 July - No Iron Chest

    Morning guys,

The Grizzly trip was very memorable, we had a bit of struggle to get there.
It rained for about an hour just after we crossed the gatekeeper.
Our gear got a little wet, but we...

    Welcome and happy trails!
That's going to be super neat to see out there on a trail one day.

Re: Miller Rock - Sunday July 11, 2021

Your cause for no cross-contamination is a just and noble one, hilariously so I have to admit.
I believe such a foul deed has already taken place however, as all of the autos in the 3.6L Jeep JK are...

    Re: Sat 7/24: Red Cone

Since I've yet to support a clean up run I feel like I should do that instead.
Hopefully I'll be able to catch Red Cone sometime before it closes this year.

Re: August - Holy Cross City interest

I love to hear it. Scott any ETA on your build?

I see Jay's preference for Saturday 21 August, which would work for me too.

    Re: Adopt-a-Trail Clean-up Run

Neither have I and it's starting to bother me.

I can commit to 10th or 31st of July

August - Holy Cross City interest

Since we are out of weekends already for July (dang!), I'd like to get Holy Cross on the radar for an August Saturday.
This has been on a personal list of mine for too long. Cleveland rock excluded...
  9. Re: 10 July - Grizzly Lake (camp) Iron Chest 11 July

I need to slide this forward one week to 17/18 July instead.

I'll get a calendar entry made soon.

    Re: Red Cone

I should be good for either date.
Feels like the window is already closing and some trails aren't even open yet!
  11. Re: 10 July - Grizzly Lake (camp) Iron Chest 11 July

Usually with gravity on your side, a descent can be done without a winch point, unless it's a large waterfall type drop off (thinking Steelbender waterfall), and the vehicle wheel base is short.
    I...
  12. Re: 10 July - Grizzly Lake (camp) Iron Chest 11 July

Yeah that's perfect, now I'll just need enough time to wake up and get down the hill.
After coffee of course, always that.
  13. Re: 10 July - Grizzly Lake (camp) Iron Chest 11 July

    That works too!
I'll set up a thread this weekend. I just need to sit down and get some meeting spots put together.
  14. Re: 10 July - Grizzly Lake (camp) Iron Chest 11 July

It is the gatekeeper, one of the primary reasons this trail gets such a harsh rating.
Lockers really not needed if you have a winch or shackle on someone else.

No sweat on the links, they were...
  15. Re: 10 July - Grizzly Lake (camp) Iron Chest 11 July

Yep, hopefully get there and find a spot near the lake for the night.
I saw you may have a Rubicon trip also. Tough problems man.

I've gone through the first bit of that boulder field and just...
  16. 10 July - Grizzly Lake (camp) Iron Chest 11 July

Since the Red Cone run was pushed, I'd love to try and camp near Grizzly Lake and run Iron chest the next day. 10 July / 11 July.

My over landing equipment is weak, but I'll have the basics...

Looks like Poughkeepsie is closed indefinitely for 'revegetation'.
I wonder how long that typically takes.

This is right in my backyard and I hate to miss on a chance to wheel, but I've got a suspension issue that won't be fixed until Monday the 14th unfortunately.

Re: Jeep Jamboree replacing CB with GMRS for 2021
