    Re: Calamity Mesa Loop

I probably need to research the trail a lot more carefully to make a decision. In general I don't want to be out in Grand Junction in mid June because of heat, but this trail is specifically marked...

Re: Hole in the Rock and Moab trip

There was a little pre-Hole in the Rock wheeling on Saturday from Delta to Hall's Crossing.

Shane, Steven and I met up in Delta and ran some trails to Nucla across the Uncompahgre Plateau. This...

Re: Hole in the Rock and Moab trip

I had a great time until I decided it wasn't my week to run hard trails. Thanks for everyone for being a part of it. I have some photos to post later.

Re: Hole in the Rock and Moab trip

Bent a tie rod and still don't know what else is wrong. I have what feels like torque steer when going 40+mph and I step on the accelerator -- back end kicks hard right and front end points left. ...
  5. Re: Winch discussion - Smittybilt vs Warn, did I choose wisely?

FWIW, my winch would rarely be useful in the Moab desert area for lack of things to anchor to. I've used it on other trucks out there, but I'm not sure it would help me if I was alone. Around the...
  6. Re: Winch discussion - Smittybilt vs Warn, did I choose wisely?

Get what you are comfortable with, but carry a snatch block (pulley wheel) also. Pulleys are magic force multipliers. I think 9-10k winch and a pulley is more than plenty regardless of gearing.

Re: Jeep Wrangler Catalytic Converter Theft

I'm joking. I thought the root problem here is that the scrappers know these are stolen and really just don't care. I hope the paint helps. Not much to do to deter thefts as long as there is...

Does the orange paint bring a premium price for the scrappers when your stolen cat is sold?

    Re: Fire Season Considerations

Space concerns are why we haven't bought a propane fire pit. Would be nice to have one but then I have another thing to store and carry plus the extra propane.

Re: Chinman Gultch 4/30 or TBD

Once I get back from the Utah trip I'll be able to figure out what's going on that weekend with better clarity.

  14. Re: Looking for info on a used 2018 Unlimited Sahara

I didn't look at price the first time. $40k is a long ways from the "winter beater" that folks drove in the midwest when I lived out that way.

My 2005 Jeep and 2012 Subaru both are still under...

It's been one year since our trip to the Maze district. I've got a good start on my prep list for this week. Can't wait to be back on the trail!
