x100 on the ball joint press. So much easier than the hammer and socket method. Either will work though. After you get the joints installed give each joint cap a whack or two with the sledge. Helps...

I say run em both. In theory, having 2 should reduce the workload so they last longer, and if one ever does go down the other will pick up the slack. Redundancy for a critical component.
Another vote for the Spicers
Welcome!
The AMC 20 isn't a horrible axle, it's just got a couple weak spots. The axle tubes are thin and it has the 2 piece axle shafts. Truss it and some one piece solid axles will cure that. Or...
I'm a huge fan of the Yokohama Geolander MT G003. Best off/on road MT tire I have ever run. I'm on my second set (upgraded to 37s and sold the 35s), and I will definitely get them again when the...
I had Bilstiens on my JK and thought they rode a bit too stiff for my liking. So I took them off for Fox 2.0 shocks and couldn't be happier.
I was talked into the Pro Comp Pro Runners back when...
A little bit of a drive from BV, but the Taylor Park Reservoir area is beautiful and offers camping, boating, and plenty of areas to Jeep and ride ATVs. A couple of trails that come to mind are...
Second vote for the General Grabber ATXs. Similar tread pattern to the KO2, but more siped. Much better in the snow and ice IMO. Cheaper than the KO2s too. Have had them on my Titan for over a year...
Initial review time.
Let me start this review off by saying that I was happy with 35s and my stock 4.10s. I even towed my tiny (900lb) pop-up camper with this set-up and didn't have any...
Breaking in the gears, so haven't had it above 50 yet. I should be good on the break in, but I'm gonna take it easy like that for the first couple hundred. It's not my daily, so it might take another...
I bought Yukon gears when Northridge4x4 was having a sale. Got F&R 4.88s with master install kits for $500. And Car Worx was right about $1600 for the install, so right around $2100 all said and...
Got the gears installed at Car Worx Warehouse last week and couldn't be happier. Great group of guys. Highly recommend this shop.
Bump.
Some trades may be considered as partial payment. And I may be willing to take payments for the right person.
Now someone buy my 35s in the For Sale section so I can get 2 more 37s and complete the set lol.
I will consider some trades, and may possibly take payments for the right person.
Called and talked to Car Worx. Sounds like a good place. Was quoted $600 an axle which is right in budget. Think I'll be getting them done there.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Thanks. Hadn't heard of that place, so I will check them out.
Anyone used or heard anything about SFF Customs out in Calhan for installing gears? Saw an ad for them so thought I'd ask. Hopefully make an appointment to get this done beginning of Feb. Still...
Thank you!
Just for clarification...these are 35x12.5x17 tires. I tried editing the thread title but it's not showing up. Must have 37s on the brain.
Love these tires. They're the best on/off road MT tire that I have ever run. Only reason I'm selling is that I'm bumping up to 37s. And yep, I will be getting these same tires again.
Tires have...
Anyone ever used Bach Crawlers in Monument/Palmer Lake? I happened to be at their shop on Friday. Seems like a cool family run business, so was just curious.
Thank you very much for the replies. Appreciate it.
I'm in the planning stages to go up a tire size within the next year, and to do this right, one of the many steps I'm going to take is to re-gear. I'm planning to go with 4.88's for various reasons...
Happy to help. I've been really pleased with them. I'm sure you'll like them if you get them too. And like you said...you can't go wrong at that price.
