I'm going to be trying to get these installed so no trails for me

crickets from me.
I'm low burning a Dinosaur N.M. camp trip in a weekend or two. Anyone interested? I have yet to travel Echo Park Road - entering from the east - staying at the river campground then exploring a bit on the west side / west of the main N/S road over to the main event building. Two, maybe three, days.
The Flat Tops are on my mind - but the season might end before I get up there.
I have Saturday free from about 11 on, I'd love to hit a trail.
I'm still wanting the check out the Fourmile trails in Buena Vista south of 285 since I haven't been on that side yet.

Oooo, looks neat. Looks like it's just a dirt road basically, right? I just like exploring and would actually prefer something that easy for someplace that far off so I can drive my Explorer since my Jimny doesn't do great on the highway.
The road through echo park is sandy wash. I drove part of it in my outback last year.

I've been thinking about that place but for fishing hah.
Might pop over to Yankee hill Saturday morning while the girlfriend goes to hike with her friends.
Dinosaur is a great drive, we did it during COVID and some places were closed so we didn't get to see all the roads we wanted to, but these were the best of the ones we did.
This road is between Meeker and Elk Springs, it's really remote feeling and there were huge sheepdogs that chased our Xterra.

This road goes from Meeker to Rifle Falls State Park and is just beautiful the whole way. There's an ATV on the road, they're legal there and there's even an ATV trail starting from main st. in Meeker.

Maybe Pickle Gulch tomorrow? Barbour Fork?
I think Sunday afternoon I might be able to get out
Dinosaur trip sounds fun. Has a date been determined? I'd be leaving from Denver on Friday morning/afternoon depending on notice.

Have you done any of the Minors Loop? (Hancock-Tincup-Cumberland passes?) Also Mnt. Antero, They are quite a bit rougher trails but are part of Colorado's grand history, well worth the time while you are out that way. The trails south of 285 4-mile area are a good time also.
I'm hoping to go there the weekend after labor day and camp on the St. Elmo side of Tincup, so that my wife and I can hike to some of the historic sites like the Alpine tunnel and the lake on that side of Hancock pass. I didn't have enough time to check those out last time I was there. Also a soak at the hotsprings pool.I'm still wanting the check out the Fourmile trails in Buena Vista south of 285 since I haven't been on that side yet.
Fourmile south is a perfect place for a fall color run, Aspen Ridge is just stunning during the change.

I have done hancock, tincup, napoleon, cumberland, tomichi passes, and Mt Antero.
And the Alpine Tunnel before the west side was wiped out.
Antero is the most interesting imo

I did Tincup last weekend - great trail! I'm not really interested in the others since from what I've seen online they appear it a bit rougher and ledgier, and I'm scared of heights. The shelf road portion of Tincup was enough of that for me

I spent the day finishing some paperwork and sending invoices - a good task complete. Out to the garage to clean it up so I can get the car in - it needs some exhaust system work and a new oil pan gasket installed. I made decent progress - but more can be tended. Oh - that reminds me - pictures to post for a free toolbox (plastic). It was my jeep tools / supplies toolbox until the metal drawer came to the jeep. It needs to find new hands. Pictures in a new thread in a bit.
