It's not that simple. You have to have a volunteer agreement in place, group and individual, plus training if you are going to use a chainsaw.
This upsets me a little. He is running roads that local clubs, that have adopted for decades, have been begging the FS to allow access all summer to assist in opening them.
He’s part of Colorado 4x4 Rescue and recovery, but I do not see how that should grant him access.

Supposedly Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery has an agreement with the FS, which is fine, the ore help the better. My gripe is my club also has an agreement with the FS and we should have the first opportunity to provide the needed tasks on the roads we have adopted for decades and provided hundreds if not thousands of hours of work. I have been contacting the FS since February offering our help.
That said, I just got off the phone with our FS contact and we will be at least assessing and hopefully clearing Moody and Sevenmile Creek in the very near future. Not sure of that means they will be open soon but its a start.
