Gamble gulch to Miners Gulch to Chinns lake and Loch Lamond
Shane and I met up and drove up gamble gulch to one of the trails reading up over Dakota hill. We then took a very narrow and run trail west and then down to Apex. From there we headed south to Mosquito creek road and headed west. Ran up a little spur trail to an awesome lookout and camp spot that is seldom visited. Ran back down and then ran up Miners Gulch, which had the most challenging sections of the day! Super fun!
Once we got to Yankee hill we ran west and then down Cumberland gulch and then ran up to Chinns lake, very beautiful. Then we ran up to Loch Lamond…. Incredible! Shane and I hiked around the lake to the large waterfall that feeds it….. very nice hike.
After getting to our rigs we headed down and then drove down Fall River road to Hamlin gulch. We headed up this awesome view trail and ended up at the OHV staging area of Yankee hill and aired up. Then we cruised back up to Ned and then I continued home! What a day!
Im super happy with my Jeep, performed excellent the last 4-5 days of straight up wheelin! The only thing that drove me nuts is a squeaky chirp that started faintly a few days ago and by the time we finished last night it was chirping along with every bump in the road and every time I pumped the brakes! Sounds suspension related but lubing a few logical areas did nothing to quiet the chirping. I read online the brake pad retaining clips sometimes aren’t lubed well from factory and cause this so this morning I removed both rear wheels and calipers and brake pads, cleaned everything and lubed and applied anti-squeal and put it all back together, including removing the retaining clips and cleaning and lubing them also.
I went for a really short test drive and I’m no longer getting the brake pump chirp….. so excited and hopefully it stays quiet for good!
Thanks for hanging out all day Shane!!

Is the lake photo Loch Lomond? If so I have never seen it so low.
Maybe Chinns?
Re: Gamble gulch to Miners Gulch to Chinns lake and Loch Lamond
It’s Sherwin lake which is just upstream from Chinn. Shane took some pix at Lamond but i didn’t
Re: Gamble gulch to Miners Gulch to Chinns lake and Loch Lamond
Oh and I took the rear drivers wheel and brake pads off again and realized one of the pads is missing the shim. I highly doubt this is normal as the other pad has them. Perhaps that’s making enough clearance for the pad to slide a little in the caliper carrier and squeak. Well it’s way way better now that I lubed it up but if it ends up squeaking again I’ll probably have to buy a set of brake pads just for the shim. I can’t seem to find just the shim anywhere….

What an incredible day. I have a few pics I'll upload later this week if I can get my internet figured out. On the phone with T-Mobile now (my provider) asking why my upload speed is 250Kbps. This won't do at all. Had to try 3 times just to upload some low quality car parts pics.
