Saxon Mountain
Signed the final divorce papers today, had to clear my head and what better way then to head to the mountains and put a few miles under me in 4 low.
Went to Saxon Mountain and ran into this.

It looks like someone was trying to go over it. Found a CV race broken in the dirt. It will take some real power to clear that.

Re: Saxon Mountain
Cant scoutman get some sticks. You know, for clearin stumps and stuff !!

Re: Saxon Mountain
Either that, or masonry drill several holes into the large rocks. Fill with water. Wait for winter and the H20 freeze. If they're not broken by spring - bring on the TNT for those holes!

Re: Saxon Mountain
Reminds me of Jaws II on Blanca...

Re: Saxon Mountain
You totally got that!!! 4 Low and go! That area seemed to be hit during the flood season.

Re: Saxon Mountain
Anyone have access to a "construction site" class / trailer air compressor? Tow a compressor up, hose with jackhammer and have at it until they're human movable size.
What's down slope from the spot? Would rolling boulders cause damage / be a risk?

Probably Jim, IIRC that's right above the lake and maybe some condos.

Re: Saxon Mountain
The place is surrounded by private property, road maintenace the responsibility of Clear Creek County. I dug through my photobucket for pictures taken from the overlook.

Notice there are not many trees growing on this slope.

There are a few private roads in the slide area.

This collapsed building is the next thing down the hill from the slide. The rock slide continues down the hill quite a ways from the building.
