Traction Boards??

Just added 4 of these to my gear on a recommendation, looking forward to trying them out this winter or next sand run. They are cheap and easy to store, but I'm not tossing my big boards just yet...

I'll be curious how they work. My non studded traction boards haven't been very useful in the snow. My studded traction boards have been useful, but half of the times I have used them I have ended up with a new bit of the board cracked off even though maxtrax says they are flexible in the cold.

Have you considered getting a ridiculous amount of horsepower and some gigantic tires instead?

You know me too well, I was just looking into a supercharger pull or crank pulley today to help get a little more boost and will be putting new headers on shortly.

even with the gear reduction in the portals, was wondering when turning 39s or whatever was going to make you want more go....do they make big block mercedes gas engines? Forced air would work....but don't love the shift toward higher rpm output.

Actually feels pretty close to stock on acceleration. Even stock I wanted more power though, but there is absolutely no need. My old Syclone made 700hp at <3500lbs so 500hp at 6500lbs plus elevation loss of power doesn't feel too impressive in comparison. But you can get 1000hp out of these engines and it's not a turbo so there is no shift of power to high rpm, it actually has an extremely flat torque curve due to the screw style supercharger and when modding it stays about the same. Stock they are over 500lb/ft from 2k-5rpm at the crank, this is hp/tq at the wheels vs crank but you can see how flat the torque curve is.

I'm not wanting to go too crazy with it though, basically just get back what I am losing due to elevation.
