The plan is May 14 is travel day to this trail, since it’s a good 9 hours drive! We plan to start wheelin May 15 and camp on the trail (not actually “on” the trail but you know what I mean) and continue the following day to camp on or near the trail also. There are numerous spurs that we could explore here, including the original trail that no longer goes thru Lake canyon). Or we could finish the trail after one or two nights and then run up Hwy 95 to the San Rafael swell area for a night or two of wheelin and camping.
May 18th will likely be travel day back home.
Everyone should bring additional gas, just in case! It’s a long 35 mile one way out and back and another 15 miles to Halls Crossing. That means 100 miles minimum between fuel stops, 70+ miles of slow off-road miles not highway miles. I'll be carrying 4 gallons of extra gas on me.
