If you click "You Have No Unread Posts" you will get a blank page (error) so believe the message and don't try. :D

You can refresh the page by clicking the logo to see if it changes to "x unread posts"

I've found it's just easier to click on "new posts." I noticed that that clicking the "unread posts" thing takes you to new posts anyway. It doesn't separate read posts from unread posts.
