This is my 'New Age Peace/Love' solution to local trail closures and a general purpose 4WD rig for those Sunday afternoon trail rides with some close friends. This is a SupaCatMWIMK also known as 'The Jackal'. The vehicles can be fitted with a range of weapons, such as a 12.7 mm Heavy Machine Gun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_Browning_machine_gun), 7.62 mm General Purpose Machine Gun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L7_%28machine_gun%29) (GPMG) and 40 mm Automatic Grenade Launcher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HK_GMG). The Jackal is capable of maintaining off-road speeds of up to 49 mph (79 km/h) and can reach a top speed of 80 mph (130 km/h). This one looks to have all the goodies: the SAW (the 7.62 GPMG), and a 12.7mm (essentially the same as the American 50 cal)and the 40mm. Seems like reasonable stuff to carry on a 4x4, but, then again, I am known for being a reasonable man....

Although wheel travel may be somewhat limited, the other add-ons would certainly make up for it, as well as the carrying capacity. If all the 4 wheelers in the state had something along these lines, trail closures would enter an entirely different and much more 'sporting' realm. :DSo what if it doesn't crawl over rocks like a rock buggy...

That looks like it would be a blast, when people aren't shooting at you or otherwise trying to blow you up.

I rode in an AMTRAC at the Quantico Marine base back in 1990. It was SO MUCH FUN tearing down the training area! All these hints that I should have been wheeling before I bought my FJC.

I don't know, Pete, the breakover angle doesn't look so good. But I guess you could blow holes in whatever you needed to crawl over.

I like it, breakover angles or not. It suits my sensitive demeanor...and, although I don't care for the Beatles, "Happiness is a Warm Gun" has always struck a chord...but, then again, "Johnny Piss Off" by the Fugs hit the same notes...
