View Full Version : Video - Crossing a washout on Webster Pass

Okay this video is from when we went over Webster past the washout. Starting about 4:28 is me going across. Note that this is not where I actually wanted my passenger tires to be - was wanting to go more left but spotted back straight, couldn't see where they were on that side obviously. You can hear me talking while the next vehicle is crossing, indicating more what I wanted to do and what I wanted the other guys to do. Of course at that point we had reinforced the section by digging away the wetter dirt and sinking the logs in more, and putting dry dirt around it.

Also earlier in the video I'm messing with my new approach angle due to my new bumper.

NOTE - There is some NSFW language.

It wasn't quite that bad when we did it back in the summer but even with a nice thin Jeep, there was some puckering...

I'm still working on un-puckering after just watching that video....

Yeah when I was driving I thought it was my rear tire that kicked the log out. If I knew at the time it was the front I would have been more freaked out.

Between Montuzuma (just outside of Keystone) and Jefferson. It's right by Red Cone

When we ran Red Cone in the summer, there was barely enough room for a full size Dodge, doesn't look like one would fit anymore...

that was some very good technical driving and some great spotting.
Ya'll have some very talented drivers here.

Well...I would have gone more left if I knew where I was, and I made sure the rest of the guys did after I got past.

I bet watching the video after you went through the wash out was pretty puckering.

It was bad enough during, as I felt the truck slip a bit, so I gave it more gas. It was pretty freaky.
