Edit: Sunday is Mother's day. FYI

Wanted to do the "4 trails" run, but it's just too far away with kids. So...

I'm looking to put together a family-friendly trail run on Sunday 5/10 in the Boulder/Nederland/Estes area.

Probably something like Bunce School Road and Ironclads, but I'm interested in trying something else. Pole Hill road in Estes would be great, but I've been up there two weekends in a row and the gate is closed. Ended up at Bunce/Ironclads both times.

My stock '09 Wrangler Unlimited with A/T tires helps determine trail choice. I'm not interested in mud or snow as I'll have the kids with me (two boys 5 and 9). I'll look around for other ideas too.

Anyone else interested?

Normally I'd be all over it but my folks are visiting from out of town this weekend.

I might be interested. I was going to do the 4 trails but have to pick up a child in Longmont on Sunday morning so that one wouldn't work. If we get something set up for lunchtime on Sunday I might be there. I have to check with the boss. I too bring my wife and kids.

Just curious... anyone here run the north sand dunes out of Ft.Collins and would it be open?? Just an idea I realize.

Interested in that over the summer. It's 3.5 hours from my house (near Gould) so it would likely have to be a weekend trip.

I just spoke to the bride and since it is mothers day, she wants to go on a nice easy trail with lots of views and stopping for pictures so we will probably be going out by ourselves. It is mothers day :)

I think we will likely be doing the same thing. I am thinking Yankee Hill and that area.

Johnny Park is closed to vehicles

Rock Creek will have snow further up you go but has some fun spots in the lower section with no snow.

Bright Trail is a great one and has some nice views and is relatively flat so there may be some muddy spots but I would try it if I were you. It is short, mileage wise, even if you explore all the spurs which will be out and backs.

Moody/Crystal is another one you could do and there shouldn't be much mud. It is more technical in spots but you should be fine even if you choose to do them. Again nice views on Moody.
