I was reading a thread on Pirate, and someone mentioned that ORS is going out of business tomorrow!!!

Suck! It was nice that there was a local specialist that supported our 4x4 forums. My truck is on 4wheels because Mike at ORS hooked me up with stock parts and I'm sure that they have helped a lot of us out on here.
It is sad how hard the economy is hitting both small and huge companies. I hope that Mike can get another ORS going again.

I don't know if this should be posted in the vendors category or not, so if it needs to be moved Chris, feel free.

They're leaving the site up for tech info, read it on their site.

I posted that ORS is going out of business on another thread a few days ago. I talked to Mike and the economy isn't doing his business any good. That, plus the fact that he now has a youngin to support and that business has been very up and down lately forced the decision. He is moving back to Kansas where he has family and a job for awhile, hoping that he will be able to spend a little more time with the his family and come back here and actually spend some time wheeling with friends.

He has helped a huge number of folks here and will be sorely missed. This is much the same decision that Jim at Solid Rock Off Road had to make earlier this year.

Soooo....let's all of us donate some more money to the US government for bombs and missles, jets to deliver them in, money to get rid of malaria in some 3rd world dump, and, of course, to bail out the Big 3. Not to mention increasing CEO and politicians salaries, and, of course, spend additional billions bailing out other 3rd world countries who justifiably hate Americans to begin with. Yes, indeed...let's let all the big and small US run business go to hell in a hand basket and really, really soon we can be a 3rd world country too..So what do ya say?

Well, we would have the dubious distinction of being the largest 3rd world country in the world, discounting Africa. I guess we would actually be the 2nd largest if you counted Africa, but we would have fallen the farthest of all.

And I don't really have a problem with wars and blowing stuff up, either, just the way we go about it and how we justify it. We should just economize a little more. Use a neutron bomb or two in whatever country we have problems with and kill every living thing in it...or use regular nukes and turn it into a wasteland that no one can use for the next 100 years. Just don't spend trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives and a lot of time doing what can be done in a matter of seconds and for a few million bucks. And really, really, really don't spend trillions of dollars rebuilding the country you just decimated. That is just so stupid...

I am scared to death of having another terrorist attack when the economy is so low. Those people aren't stupid, just fanatics, and they would like nothing better than to see the USA brought to it's knees....a position that we would probably never recover from at this point..

"It's the end of the world as we know it, it's then end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine......"

^^ Well stated Brody... we are living through some extreme times, and I feel fortunate that we have some good changes coming at the top.... we need that! A president who is not so concerned with what a big swinging dick we have, and more about the people who make it swing.

Because it is ethically and morally unacceptable, as well as suicidal political move to blow up civilians and combatants in one indiscriminate mass? If we took the course of action you suggest, we must have the cojones and world standing to tell the rest of the world to F.Off if we drop a tactical on Iran, converting them into a giant parking lot and air strip.

Why do we go in, dismantle and rebuild? I think it used to be so we could rebuild said target nation as a democracy. I don't think that works so well in the Middle East.

I think I am off topic now though. Sorry to hear about ORS>

I was probably off topic too. Just the state of the nation is really disturbing and people are turning a blind eye to it. Americans...if the remote ain't broke, everything is groovy...right....

Our world standing is so bad I don't think it would matter. Our cojones got cut off in the 50s or earlier. I remember both my Dad and Granddad talking about America when we still had some. Now it is all politics and we have to 'make nice', not that it does any good cause we'll just F over whoever we just 'made nice' to...

As to civilians and combatants, I would be inclined to say that they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and were born in the wrong country...we should've done it in Vietnam and we should do it in Iraq...save ourselve some grief and live with it...or just leave all these crappy countrys alone and fix the USA...
