Yesterday was a pre run for the Kingston Peak (Stockers Without Lockers) trip in September. I headed up with Aaron and Tye to scope things out - mostly to time the run over KP and to Loch Lomond. We took our sweet time and made a-lot of stops along the way to get pictures of the scenery. KP was sunny and beautiful all the way to the Stone House. Some dark clouds were rolling in from behind us, so we pushed on to Loch Lomond. Once we were at the lake, I laced up my shoes a little tighter and we headed out for a hike. (I told Aaron if I laced up tighter, he might talk me into going :D) Well, near death experience aside (fluffy kid hiking up hill in the altitude) it was awesome!!! I always wanted to get up to the lakes above Loch Lomond. Thanks guys!!! Next time, maybe we'll make it up to Ice Lake. ;) So, here are some pictures...

Cool Vid. How far up is Ice Lake? I think if it wasn't for the storm we would have done more.

I don't want to steal your post but I didn't want to start a new thread. I was up there a few weeks after your guys were and that cabin was not up when we got there , I didn't get any pics of it sorry.

Here is the thread I did on a Isuzu forum....I posted it as Yankee Hill / Loch Lomand but we did Kingston.

It's located a little further down, we started close to Blackhawk on the pre-run. Didn't start in the normal spots... that is where we found the cabin!

It's a little less than a mile up from Apex.

Ok, so about how long does it take to do the trip from Central City to Lock Lomond? How much time to hike up to the lakes above LL? Thinking about putting together a run on offroadsubarus.com sometimes later this summer.

For a fun time I'd say from Central over Kingston to Loch up to the lake give about 4 hours. Hikes vary. There are more lakes above not pictured also. to do all lakes I'd say 2 - 3 hours, if you stay to the lower ones maybe 30 min extra or so

Loch you will be more then fine. Kingston might have 1 hill that may involve higher rpms. It's really a friendly trail

Awesome thanks for the heads up! Karla (girlfriend) and I might hit some more stuff out of Alice if the day doesn't take too long. Time will tell. The trip led for the Foresters will probably just be Kingston and Loch tho, things always take longer with a group.
