Ladies Run

Sitting in Denver think about how much I'm missing this run. Looking forward to hearing how everyone did.

I just recalled what a friend told me about their version of this with his Model A club. The men would ride with someone else's wife in someone else's Model A.

Why?

I spent my few, free-of-kids hours today putting on a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder (the master's been leaking for quite some time and had gotten much worse lately) on my daily driver p/u.

<takes deep breath>

After screwing around with this just about all day, best I can tell I got a bad master cylinder. I couldn't get it to build pressure on the bench and decided to try bleeding it on the truck with the line attached and stuck in a bottle of fluid. Still couldn't get it to build pressure. Even tried bleeding the whole system in an attempt to flush things out, and still nothing! Man, I'm pissed.

The shop I got it from was the only ones who could get their hands on one same day (Friday), and the bonus was that it was the lowest price going. But, the POS didn't work and now they'll have to get one from the warehouse, which of course means I won't have it till Monday.

The bright side to this is that I'll drive the Disco to work until I get this thing fixed. :)

I love hydraulic clutch linkage systems, but I HATE WORKING ON THEM!!!

I'd have rather been wheeling... but family plans got in the way of that. :(

Friday - Jessica and I went up to Sevenmile to find a campingspot for us. Did a fair amount of the trail tll we found our spot. Beautiful night of stars, but to much wind to safly start a fire.

Sat - Break down camp, pack up go to trailhead. I was happy to see the turnout I was not thinking that many were gonna show up. THANKS TO ALL THE LADIES WHO MADE IT..... and Dave...

On trail the ladies did great!!! I was happy to see the smiles and hear the adreniline pumping shreaks and made up words LOL (for those there that heard Jess on the 3 wheeling action I am sure you understand LOL)

The trail went smooth, the mudholes where found and conquered. The real scare of the day goes to LaDawn.... I seriously didn't mean do it in reverse..HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Where that truck rolled back I thought you were going over... Nice quick thinking in that truck to LaDawn and Pete.

Made all of the trail, had lunch, continuned down, Tye did attempt the Chutes, and saw just how narrow it was! Great driving Tye... 4" more you would have had it!!!

After we came off the trail we set up camp. I really liked the spot I was at. I had fun with everyone. I really enjoyed the company. I look foward to do this again!!

Tye, the hamburgers were great... next time I will get the Texas size buns to match the Texas size hamburger!!

Sun - Well today was sad.... We had to return to the city... no more camp hammock, hanging by the fire, BS'ing etc...

Great time, great run and great people again! All the Ladies did really well, too. Pictures to follow this PM.

Again we didn't do the chutes. As I mentioned to Aaron-the chutes are kinda like some of the rock climbs in Eldorado Springs Canyon-a whole bunch of moderate or easy climbing, then a sort, hard crux section. Pretty much not worth doing, especially since you have to drive out of your way to do it. I would much rather do a hard trail or climb with a harder crux section, especially if the harder section had to be done in order to finish the climb/trail.

Thanks to everybody who helped run the dog, she'll be sleeping for the next couple days.. She's worn out. To Aaron and Jess.. Congradulations You Two! We'll see you again soon. :cheers:

First of all, here is the link to the 20 pictures I took of us doing all manner of cool things. I wish I had been able to get shots of the mud bog. The uphill, foot deep, black mud-bog, powering through which was one of the highlights of my day.

There were plenty of tires in the air and great demonstrations of skills. Holly went up on of the rocky, steep spots, and went up well. I declined. :) Thanks to all who helped spot me up a few place, particularly the trench Aaron's picture shows. Also, Brody knows how to make a fire pit!

Actually, I was just looking at pictures for the first time lastnight. I do actually have a few shots of the mud bog. In fact, there is one of you cruzing through as mud is splashing and spreading in all directions. It's a great shot! :thunb:.. I know, I know.. Your anxious to see it..
