Estes Park area wheelin

I have some friends visiting from Iowa, they are staying in Estes Park and would like to spend a day on the trails. They are interested in good rock crawling, old mines, colorado history and scenery. What suggestions does everyone have?

Think trails comparable to Wheeler Lake, Iron Chest - but closer to Estes.

The hardest trail with the best scenery kind of close is Middle Saint Vrain and Coney Flats.
