Dear Front Range 4x4 members,

My name is Eric, -I'm 32 years old. I moved to CO from Pennsylvania about 4 years ago to do the work for my Ph.D. at CU. I first lived in Boulder and I now live a few minutes East in the town of Lafayette. I did what would be considered to be mild four wheeling growing up in PA, but never anything comparable to the opportunities in CO. So last fall the time came and I picked up a 2008 JK :birthday:, which of course, changed my life forever. However, I soon found out that the winter months restricted the number of trails that were opened , but I was able to find some places to explore. I made it up to Jonny Park road before the gate was closed last fall, and later I stumbled upon the Lefthand Canyon trails sort of by accident (yep. blew my mind). Since then, I've completed Miller Rock, the opened parts of Bunce School Road and the Ironclads, and some Moab trails like Fins 'n' Things and some other mild ones in that area. Also made it down to the Broken Arrow Trial in AZ :thumb:. I have yet to go out on the trails with any other vehicles, but I'm really looking forward to this! Usually I'm accompanied by my wife, who also enjoys the sport.

I ran my JK stock on these trails for a while, but lately I made a few modifications such as 2.5 inch lift with 35s, 5.38 gears, gussets & sleeves. I plan to run it like this for a while, though it may be prudent to add some beefier armor at some point. Ok and maybe headers and exhaust. Does the list ever end?

Well that's it for me! I hope I get to meet up with some of you on the trial in the very near future!

Eric

From my (so far) limited experience - the answer would be: Nope. :lmao:

Welcome! Thanks for the great intro and pix!

I agree. Going out alone is not good practice. I hope to change this.

I'm in the field of Cell & Molecular Biology. More specifically, I work to understand how our immune system recognizes and destroys cancerous cells, while leaving healthy cells in tact. It's an interesting question since this mechanism must be escaped in order for cancer to progress.

Along with the weather! I don't miss those PA winters were you don't see the sun for 3 months at a time.

Welcome Eric! Nice Rubi!

Check out the "Planned Trail Run" section and join us on one of the upcoming runs. Devil's Canyon and Barbour Fork are our adopted trails that we clean every year. That might be a good place for you to start to meet some members here.

Hi Eric, I just noticed your question on the clean-up RSVP. Yes, we do each trail twice so you'll have another chance later in the season.
