Don wanted me to build a rear bumper for his '95 Wrangler with a swingaway tire carrier. Duplications are from the swingaway carrier I am building for Juno's Cherokee. Here are the start pictures:

Second part. Plates hanging off the spindles are 1/4" steel and are for the double shear mounting to the bumper. And no, to answer any questions, the bumper is not going to over hang the sides of the Jeep 10":D. I haven't gotten to the 'cut to fit' point...

Pete......If this is for me....this is for the 95 Wrangler...not the Rubicon...

Ooops on my part....but only on the title...Right parts, right bumper, wrong year:lmao::lmao:

Lookin' good Pete. Spindles are from A to Z???

Actually those are the same ones from JeepTubes and have a grease zerk. The A to Z ones do not. Not that that is a real selling point on the difference.

Here is the update on Don's rear bumper. Pretty much waiting on the Jeep right now for final adjustment on tire carrier height and for the location of the bumper mounts. Everything above the swing arm is just tacked in place right now.

Yeah, he was skulking in the neighborhood....I am doing a bit of 'find the mystery noises' and check and tighten stuff on his rig today.

Mine have those too. Bought from Comp4x4.com

Update. The first picture shows classic powder coating issues. These were the existing bumper mounting brackets. The powder coating lifted off with a putty knife and revealed a massive amount of rust underneath. Ever wonder why almost all of the fabricators paint their stuff and offer 'powder coating' as an option?

I like the mounting stud idea Pete!

Shoot me a PM, Jonathan, and I'll hook you up with that mount set up. It worked sweet!

Next in line as I was waiting for the paint to dry on the rear, were the sliders. I cut off the existing ones, added two more mounting points to the frame with plates, used the existing two frame plates that were already there, and added gussets to all of them. I have yet to add the tube kicker, but since I have to do a hoop for the front bumper/winch, I figured I would bend everything at the same time. The sliders were pretty straight forward.

Next was the front bumper. Nothing to take or cut off here, just figure out some mounts and how the ends were to be tucked back. Don wanted a stubby, but also wanted the ends clipped and returned back to the wheels a bit, with the addition of two tow points. It will get a winch hoop tomorrow when I bend the slider stuff.

Yeah Rick, I did to Don's what I suggested doing to yours pretty much, but you have more mounting points, so it would be a matter of beefing them and replacing the outer parts.

All the funky retro chrome goodies are gone, front bumper done, rear painted and mounted and serious sliders installed.

Here are the before and after:

And the last couple. Clever eyes will notice the shining stuff on the winch fairlead. Surprising what a MF brush on a grinder will do to rust.......:lmao::lmao::lmao: The rust was jacking my clean/ shiny/new photos all up. Took about 60 seconds to spin the rust off....

Meant to ask you about them last week, but got busy and ran out of time. Where did you get 'em or was it something you dreamed up.
