I was just wondering what it would take and cost to make a Rear tire carrier for my JK it's 2 door. I don't have the means, anyone willing to help? I will get the parts as soon as i know what i need.

I'd help you out, but I'm way down in Colorado Springs!

Hey Brody, check these out. Might be a lot more work than a standard swing out tire carrier, because you need to build supports on the body(EVO just ties it to the fender body armor they sell with it). I think it looks pretty BA though, was thinking of doing a similar design to my YJ. :smokin:

Alot of the weight comes from the corner panel armor. Prolly 3/16" steel!

They aren't too bad until you add the tire. That one doesn't look like it weighs more than the one I fabbed up for for Chris' CJ5, which, incidentally, wouldn't be too big a deal to do a side swing vs a drop down on.

In my mind, no. These are made from 1/8" steel stock instead of heavier steel stock and they do not extend all the way across. This design, both in the steel thickness and the fact that it doesn't extend all the way, limits the load bearing to a very small portion of thin steel. I wouldn't even offer to weld a tire mount to this configuration if someone brought that in to me.

If you were to use a thicker designed piece of armor, like 3/16" , it would be a different story. Many companies sell Jeep armor for the sides that is really close to the $300 these guys are asking for their thin crap.

Strong and Stylish. The pentagram did get a tire mount just not in this picture.
