Keith did a sweet job! I don't know why you can't see it. I have run into that with a couple of pictures/videos that people have posted, too. It's a random thing with me.

I'm a little new to Front Range but I check it out regularly and Brody I saw the thread with the t-shirts and went and looked at your profile but until this thread cause of your business card I didn't know what you did "welding, fabrications, yard art, and steel art" maybe most know what you do or have done but for people like me you could post of jobs you've done fabrications that sort of thing not sure you can do it on your profile or not but it would be good to know for if or when a need comes up what your able to do or make repair that sort of thing, thanks

More. Some may be duplicates of what Chris posted. This covers both my heap and other people's rigs and is the stuff that is mostly in the build threads. There were a lot of build threads (Pathrat's and Steve's) where all the photos had been moved to PhotoBucket, so I didn't link them. I also didn't post a lot of other stuff, either because A) This was getting tedious, B) I couldn't find the photos easily, or C) They weren't connected to anyone on this forum. At any rate, I fabricate, weld, fix, and install a huge amount of stuff. This last year, in addition to FR stuff, I have built metal ladders, done a lot of mechanical work, built handrails, fixed BobCats and a Skidster, built metal (along with some repairs) fences, done some construction welding, trailer modifications and repairs, made and installed at least 4 other sets of sliders, built a couple of other bumpers, etc, etc, etc.

At any rate, happy to give a quote for anything. If I can do it, I will let you know. If I find another source for a product that is good and I can't build at least for the same price, I will direct you to that source. If it is something I cannot do, I will also let you know. The links and replies should suffice for a referral.:

Brad and Chris' camper mods. I added a better jack and longer foot to Chris' as well as modifying the front for a better battery mount and a propane can. This was in addition to doing an axle flip for better clearance and adding some bigger wheels and tires. On Brad's camper, I rebuilt the front for batteries x2 and a propane can. The top one is Brad's, the bottom is Chris'.

November 4th, 2011, 05:38 PM
Matt Feeney's roof rack. I took the roof rack that Matt's neighbor had kindly torn off, ripping the rain gutters lose, repaired the rain gutters and rebuilt the roof rack, redesigning it in the process. I added two spare tire mounts, one front and one rear so that the spare could be mounted front or rear depending on whether he had a roof top tent mounted. I redesigned the rack, making if a lower profile design, adding mounting for the front and rear lighting and a Hi Lift mount.

Dave Nay's swing down rear tire carrier FJ80. This was done on top of a prior remove and relocate the trailer hitch for clearance. Now that is tucked way up high and almost out of sight.

November 4th, 2011, 05:46 PM
Jackie's Jeep slider extensions. I added these, then later added a couple of braces back to the frame to give some added strength. My lightweight ass couldn't get very much flex, but Jackie's 200lb husband, Britton, noticed it right off. At a later date, I installed Jackie's ShrockWorks front bumper and winch.

These are pictures of Nick's (Chris and Heather's problem child....hehe...sorry Nick...had to stick that in...You are a problem to me, too!:lmao:) budget front and rear XJ bumpers. These were designed around an easy reconstruction if a winch or swing away tire was to be added at a later date.

November 4th, 2011, 06:04 PM
A couple of pictures of Chris' (Chris)4runner rear bumper which is almost a mirror image of Brad616. I modified Chris' for a rear camera mount near the inner part of the gas can side and customized the gas can carrier for the "Toyota" part. Still have some very minor tweaking to do, but that will be taken care of when I do the front bumper mount, probably this coming week.

Heather's Jeep Build. Here is the almost finished picture. This was more a joint effort than anything I did all by my lonesome. Between Chris, Nick, and I, we installed Rockman front and rear bumpers, rear body panel armor, sliders, a belly tuck skid, steering box skid, other under armor, winch, body lift, engine lift, tranny /t case lift, suspension lift and shocks. Probably some other stuff that we have both forgotten.

Not as full as I would usually like! I can always use more work. Next week is a bit busy, then I have some blank spots I am trying to fill. I have steel restaurant tables I am working on, some tweaking to do on Chris' rear bumper, plus a different license plate mount to use for when he isn't using the gas cans and the ShrockWork front bumper to modify and mount for his front. After that, I have a lull...

Forgot where I put this and was trying to find it using the forum search engine. Search being a misnomer. I don't think it could find the word 'search'. Tried BFD, Tried the actual title. Tried the actual title watching all my upper and lower case...absolutely nothing. Waste of space, the search engine stuff is...

Anyway, my little hissy fit being over, Keith and his daughter came by today and dropped off my new business cards. They look great! So did they as he was wearing a BFD logo T shirt and his daughter was carrying a BFD bumper sticker. What a presentation!

The shiny silver ones stand off from the black base about 3/4" and the other ones have the shiny metal (either steel or brass) set 3/4" below the face. Thanks everyone!

BTW, the wall and any yard art stuff can certainly be customized, but keep in mind that right now I am working pretty much with Southwestern American Indian petroglyphs and designs. So if you happen to want a special one, special design, color other than black, special size, or special petroglyph...or all this, let me know via email: peterbrody4@gmail.com and I'll be happy to work with you on it.

I am also doing some fridge magnets much like smaller versions of the card holders/paperweights. Chris, Heather and few other folks have them, so maybe they can give a little feedback. I'll post some pictures of these up soon. I forgot to take photos of them before they went to an art/craft show.

They are cool Pete. Have you considered adding some low voltage lights to of any of it? For instance, the recessed geckos, add a piece of white plastic behind it with a low voltage light behind the plastic. I assume those are for outside, you could do that with those petrographic stands you have too.

Just a thought! :thumb:

I thought about the light stuff, but haven't done anything with it yet. Thanks for bringing that up again. It can certainly be added.

These are actually designed for indoor wall art, but since they are painted with an enamel, could be hung outside.

That was pretty funny! I had just painted some of these and was running out of lawn, so two were sitting on some cardboard in the driveway. Chris pulls into the driveway, and we are kinda screwing around, and I went "Oh oh", walked around to the side to see the fresh tire tracks. Luckily, they weren't the ones where the figurine is standing off the metal base and were the flat ones. No harm, no foul and a good laugh...Looked kinda cool with the tire track, too...

New Swingaway Tire and Hi Lift Jack Carrier:

Shown with a stock Jeep Grand Cherokee tire and 60" Hi Lift for reference. Weld or bolt on. Bottom bar is strictly a jig. Was going to do a green screen, but I thought LaDawn would tweak when she saw the green door:lmao:

Excuse the snow. Seemed to be doing that where the best lighting was today:D With a bit of admittedly hack and fast Photochopping, the last picture should clarify things a little.

Some more wall art pictures.

The kokopellis that aren't mounted to a base are designed to simply be mounted to the wall with a small finish nail. The two pictured are going to be mounted to either the exterior wall of a house in the patio or mounted to an existing fence. The picture shows them pre rust as this is how they would probably be displayed inside with the addition of a clear coat.

The kokopelli that is mounted on the round base is the smaller version and is also designed as an inside wall mount. It too can be mounted outside and either allowed to rust or be clear coated for interior mounting.

The gecko is designed to be mounted inside or outside with two small screws. It would be clear coated or rusted for either inside or outside.

It should be mentioned that Chris showed little remorse................

.Probably because I was laughing....I had just painted them, too, and had them in the driveway in the sun to dry. It was pretty funny....

Hi, while at the Lakewood Bar and Grill with the Atomic Drifters and friends Saturday, I had a small crowd around the FJC. When we left, one guy in particular was very impressed with your work. "SICK!" He is looking for sliders for his lifted Ranger. I told him you could do it. I HAVE to get some cards from you, this weekend I think.

Thanks!

Good shot Jeff! I like the Front Range 4x4 in the picture! That was yesterday installing the oil pan/tranny skid that was made from a stock Jeep skid plate from Heather's rig that I was looking for a home for. Nice to recycle stuff like that!

Heather's stock spar tire carrier also found a happy home on the back of Sidhill's (Spencer) big Ford truck. He needed to mount one of his big tires in the back on the side of the bed. The stock Jeep tire carrier got a few little mods and provided a perfect mounting point. Spencer, in a very nice bit of clever thinking, had cut the top 3/4" or so off of an old rotor for the 8 lug backing plate, which worked very well. I clipped the old Jeep studs off, welded this to the Jeep plate with a bit of reinforcement, we made a mounting bracket for the bed and side rails and bolted the modified spare tire carrier to this.

Chris' (no longer on the forum) big Dodge rock rails. Todd (WYota, now playing in Texas) and I did a similar set for another big Dodge (a friend of his) earlier last year.

HERE they are! and and a tilt bed convertion Pete did for an other guy who is no longer with the group.

Thanks! Todd is being gracious. These were projects that he and I did together. The Dodge truck sliders for for a friend of his were close to what I had done for Chris, who had the other big dodge.

The dump bed conversion was a weld it up kit from Northern Tools and where it did sorta have all the parts, and sorta had some directions, it took both of us to figure out how to get everything lined up (body lines especially) and working just fine. The gates were made from scratch based on what the customer needed.

This was a small project a friend of mine, Bren, called me about doing for him. He had gotten this massive brush guard from a friend of his for nothing and wanted it stuck onto his GMC. The brush guard had originally come off of a big Dodge and had been welded onto that frame. I did some Tupperware removal on the front as well as scrapping the GMC side rails, made some new brackets, replaced a damaged/bent center section of tubing on the grill guard and mounted it up for him.Since this is a work truck and not an off road unit, this works fine and will certainly remove slow construction workers (there are a surprising number of them on construction sites...) out of the way...

the brush guard is a little butch, but your work is awesome as always!!

Brody

the brush guard is a little butch,

Oh yeah, it is. Heavy, too. There were a few of Bren's friends that stopped by his shop (where I was doing the work) who also gave him some grief about it. Texas and Wyoming were frequently mentioned.....

Although he doesn't "wheel" it per se, he does take his family camping in it and is going to have me add some rocker protection down the road. He has a nicely built 80 series LC that he uses for the real wheeling...

Actually looks better than I thought it would....
