View Full Version : Any interest in something this weekend?

I want to get out this weekend on something simple but with some hiking/biking trails nearby (perhaps even camping). What options are there that are close (an hour or so from Denver). Anyone else want to join?

I've been thinking about doing the same, maybe Chinns lake. It's close, easy and has camping. I haven't been yet, so I'm not sure about mb trails. I read that it gets busy, not sure how busy or too busy though.

I've been kicking around West Magnolia in my mind for saturday. I don't have my work schedule set yet but I know I atleast have AM work so I want to do something close that probably won't result in breakage. I went to the north end of it (trip report posted) recently and it's all camping and biking with jeep trails interspersed. I'd like to start from Rollinsville.

West Magnolia would work as well, although something in the mountains would be a bit cooler right now (so that we can escape this insane heat wave). Either would work. My plan would be to 4wheel on Saturday, camp Saturday night and then do another close by trail on Sunday.

We're going to hit Barbour Forks Sat morning with a few others and maybe Devils canyon that afternoon. Not sure of the camping but heard the wild flowers on Barbour were fantastic

Champion Mill looks cool! to bad I don't have a bike. Also need to head out this weekend but may do a trip Saturday depending on whats decided.
