Just bought it tonight! Big thanks to Keith (transplant87) for taking a look at it for me. Need to get temp tags so I can drive it home this weekend.

Only pic I have right now.

It needs a stereo and speakers, a bed (may already have that taken care of), ball-joints, and tie rod ends.

So far not sure on what exactly I'm going to do with it yet. Will post more pics when I get home

Excellent, Shayne.

A flatbed would look good. Lots of ideas in the flatbed thread.

I thought about it, but I have a guy who may be selling me a bed for $100

Hope you got it reasonable. Looks like 1/2 a truck to me! :thumb:

Awesome Shayne, if you have any thing else you need let me know, i have some parts off a 79 bronco, and some spare 77 f150 parts, but most the drive train and such is pretty much interchangeable.

I got it for $750 so with the bed I should be picking up I will have spent $850, not bad for a 77 ford that is not a rust bucket. Only $50 more than the 70 Chevy we have sitting in the garage that isn't running

Chris thanks I will let you know if I need anything!

What I thought too, until I remembered the F250 Sean and I worked on awhile back. It was an 80 and an F250, but instead of being the Hi Boy F 250 (what we were both expecting to see), it was the F250 4x4 with the TTB front end which does look like the F150 in ride height, etc., just with a bit more weight carrying capacity.

So, does it have the straight axle or the TTB? 351 or 460?? Curious as to what you got...

it has a solid axle ford f250 with a big block 400, ff rear end which is a ford 10.5 inch diff, and sounds great.

It should have a 351M or the 400(read 351M with different crank), and either a 4sp NP435 with granny low or a C6, as well as a NP205 Tcase. However some of the F-Series trucks came with the NP203 and were Full Time 4x4. The front should be a Dana 60 or i believe a high pinion Dana 44 depending on how it was equipped. The stock rear ends in the F250's were typically Dana60's Dana61's and every once in a while you find yourself one with a Dana 70.

Oh i guess Kieth answered it already. I should learn to read to the bottom. Did he swap in a 10.5? I didnt think they had those until the early 80's, but i could be mistaken.

It has the Dana 44 HP in the front. Keith already said whats on the rear.

That is a really nice builder platform. I would be for turning that into the wheeler, myself, especially since you aren't going to find yourself worrying about the body and bed too much...Flat bed the back and then do any other mods.

Chris i may be mistaken it might be a dana 60. but ford has a 10.5 inch diff that is hard to find cause it is so strong that any1 that has 1 wont give them up for any price

Yeah I believe its manufactured by sterling and was used in the f350 starting around 84 or 85.I know that's what's under my dads super duty.
