View Full Version : Off Set Tie Rod Ends

Maybe some of you have seen these, maybe not, but I thought it was a pretty cool idea. If I try to move my front axle forward any more, the tie rod and drag link line up with each other. Something like these would solve the problem. I didn't even know stuff like this was out there..

What I would like to know...from one of you engineering type folks out there..is how much strength do you think is lost on the right angle design? It is obviously the weakest point as this is certainly a compromise design....I was thinking about a 15-20% loss of strength, myself, but I am not an engineer...
